SUSAN E. PIETTE is an attorney with Hamburg Rubin Mullin Maxwell & Lupin, PC, where she practices in the areas of estate planning; elder law matters, emphasizing asset protection for seniors facing nursing home care; business succession; trusts; guardianships; and estate administration. She has authored several articles on estate planning, elder law, Medicaid, and estate administration matters, including a seminar series entitled "The 60+ Series" specifically addressing the legal needs of those age 60 and above. She is also a co-editor of the Montgomery County Elder Law Handbook (2017) which is distributed to Montgomery County seniors and their caregivers at no cost, courtesy of the Montgomery Bar Association, Montgomery Bar Foundation, and other sponsors. Ms. Piette received her B.S. degree from the University of Illinois and earned her J.D. degree from the University of Illinois. Ms. Piette is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Montgomery Bar Association (Elder Law Committee), The Mayflower Society, and The Daughters of the American Revolution. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Illinois. She has taught several continuing education course for attorneys and long-term care professionals, including those recently with National Business Institute; "Crisis Planning and Assistance for Medicaid," "Trust Based Medicaid Planning," "Taking Medicaid Planning into Consideration When Creating Wills and Trusts," and "Ethics and Estate Planning."
