ALAN L. FARKAS is a partner in Smith Amundsen's Chicago office, where he co-chairs the aerospace practice group. He has been successfully litigating complex, high profile aviation and commercial matters for 25 years. He also advises corporations, pilots, airports, and municipalities on regulatory and statutory compliance, formation and organization, and liability protection. In the courtroom, he defends clients against claims of negligence, breach of warranty, premises liability, and product liability related most often to personal injuries, death or property damage. His clients operate through the U.S., Europe and Australia. Mr. Farkas has also become deeply involved in representing pilots and manufacturers of model aircraft, drones, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). He earned his J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law and his B.A. degree from the University of Denver. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and Missouri, and before the the United States Supreme Court and various other federal courts. Mr. Farkas is an active member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, where he serves on the Government Host Committee and chairs the Legal Advisory Council. He is also an active member of the Chicago Area Business Aviation Association (CABAA) and serves on the Board of the CABAA Education Foundation, as well as the Academy of Model Aeronautics (one of his clients), the NBAA, and several other industry organizations. Mr. Farkas is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, he was recognized as one of the 40 under 40 by the Chicago Law Bulletin, and he's been recognized as a Super Lawyer multiple times, including the past five years.

RONNIE R. GIPSON JR. is currently an assistant professor of law at the University of La Verne-College of Law in Ontario, California, where he teaches aviation law. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2004. As an aviation law practitioner, he represented clients in regulatory enforcement matters, in transactional matters, and in civil litigation arising from aircraft operations. Professor Gipson regularly presents lectures on aviation law topics; publishes articles on aviation issues of importance to the global community; and engages in aviation policy and legislative discussions with the entire community of aviation stakeholders.

JASON LORENZON is the lead faculty for UAS/UAV for the Aeronautics Program at Kent State University. He is a FAA licensed UAS pilot, commercial fixed wing pilot, holding an instrument rating, multi-engine rating and instructor ratings (single, multi-engine and instrument). Mr. Lorenzon also practices as an attorney with Lorenzon Law LLC. He focuses his practice in the areas of aviation law, drone law, immigration law, criminal defense, and civil litigation. Mr. Lorenzon gained his legal immigration knowledge after working for a large immigration firm for several years, first as a law clerk, then as a senior attorney. Mr. Lorenzon has represented clients in immigration courts across the United States, including New York, Cleveland, Seattle, San Antonio, Newark, Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami-Chrome, Miami, Orlando, Dallas, Memphis, Chicago, Buffalo, and Boston. While attending Cleveland State, he worked full time and was managing editor of the Journal of Law and Health. Prior to his legal career, he served for many years as music director of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Macedonia, Ohio. Mr. Lorenzon earned his B.A. degree from University of Western Ontario. He earned his Master of Music with Cleveland Institute of Music. He earned his J.D. degree from Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association (chair of the Aviation Law Committee), The Florida Bar, the Akron Bar Association, and is a panel attorney for the Airplane Owner's and Pilot's Association.
