Jay Y Oppenheim is an attorney with Blades & Rosenfeld, P.A. where his practice focuses on estate planning, estate and trust administration, probate, and tax. Mr. Oppenheim graduated from St. John's University School of Law in 2013. During law school, he earned the Dean's Award for Excellence for obtaining the highest grade in his Estate and Gift Tax class. He was also selected for a Trusts and Estates Fellowship by the New York State Bar Association's Trusts and Estates Section. Additionally, Mr. Oppenheim won a Best Brief in the 2013 Nassau Academy of Law Moot Court Competition and was an Oral Finalist in the 2012 Nassau Academy of Law Moot Court Competition. Prior to joining Blades & Rosenfeld, P.A., Mr. Oppenheim was an attorney for a boutique firm in New York City, principally focused on tax and trust and estate matters for individuals and families. He also worked as an advanced sales attorney for an insurance brokerage providing tax, legal, regulatory and life insurance product support for its high-net-worth client practice, including in the field of premium financed life insurance. Mr. Oppenheim was admitted the New York State Bar in 2014 and the Maryland State Bar in 2016. He is currently a member of the American Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association.
