Wilson Elser

John P Cahill is an associate attorney with the White Plains, New York office of Wilson Elser. He handles a range of matters, with a concentration in the developing field of cryptocurrencies, NFTs in particular. Mr. Cahill researches current trends, keeping up to date with all developments in the NFT space, in and outside the courtroom, to ensure that clients are in compliance with any current and developing legal restrictions. Given the milieu in which the business of cryptocurrency exists, he ensures clients are current with information security policies and programs to counter the emerging risks posed by bad actors, and that they use the proper methods of collecting and monitoring personal information. Mr. Cahill understands that a powerful cyber breach incident response is the gatekeeper for trust and credibility for blockchain-based companies. Prior to joining Wilson Elser, he spent two years with Chubb Insurance, where he worked on cyber law, corporate law and insurance law issues. While there, Mr. Cahill also participated in researching best practices with respect to critical initial response phases, forensics investigations and system restoration, as well as reporting and notification obligations arising from cybersecurity incidents. He also worked on a statewide campaign and a presidential campaign, and before that with All American Games, LLC. During that time, Mr. Cahill orchestrated, presented and executed numerous events throughout the country, formally inviting the nation's top players to the U.S. Army All American Bowl. He earned his B.S. degree from Saint Louis University and his J.D. degree from New York Law School.
