Margolis Edelstein

Michael Belko is an associate with Margolis Edelstein in the Pittsburgh office, where his practice focuses primarily on labor and employment law, representing employers in wrongful termination, employment discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour matters. His practice further includes construction and general liability actions. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Belko was granted a University of Chicago Law School Public Interest Fellowship, during which he spent a year as a legal fellow with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, assisting the organization in its mission to represent and exonerate wrongly convicted individuals. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Chicago and his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Pittsburg. During law school, he was an active participant in the Federal Criminal Justice Clinic, where he worked on the Federal Bailwatching Project, an in-depth study and advocacy project regarding federal pretrial detention rates and practices. During his summers, Mr. Belko interned on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of PA and the Third Circuit, as well as with the Federal Public Defenders for the Western District of PA. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court, Western District of PA.
