Samantha Hermsen Sanchez is an associate with the Saint Paul, Minnesota office of Hogen Adams PLLC. She represents tribal governments, agencies, and entities while fighting to protect their rights and interests in tribal, state, administrative, and federal courts. Ms. Hermsen Sanchez has experience in the areas of jurisdictional disputes, land tenure, tribal sovereign immunity, environmental law and regulations, child and adult welfare, gaming, and drafting tribal code. She prides herself on being a passionate and adaptable advocate for her clients throughout all stages of litigation. Ms. Hermsen Sanchez graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. As a law student, she worked for her law school’s Indian Law Impact Litigation clinic where she worked on federal Indian law cases related to reservation boundaries and taxation. Ms. Hermsen Sanchez also worked as a law clerk in the Child Protection Division of the Hennepin County Attorney’s office, where she assisted with cases involving the Indian Child Welfare Act. Prior to joining Hogen Adams, she worked as a prosecutor for the Hennepin County Attorney’s office handling felony cases largely related to domestic assault. In this role, Ms. Hermsen Sanchez gained extensive negotiation and courtroom experience that she applies to her current practice.
