Trisha S Widowfield Esq. is a partner in the Fort Lauderdale office of Osborne, Francis & Pettis, PLLC. Ms. Widowfield handles complex civil litigation matters, focusing her practice in the areas of medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury. She has extensive experience across the State of Florida representing individuals and families. In September 2021, Ms. Widowfield served as trial co-counsel, winning a $6.46M verdict for a client, the largest wrongful death medical malpractice jury verdict ever reported in Volusia County, Florida history. Earlier in her career, she spent a decade defending hospitals and nurses in malpractice litigation, giving her a unique perspective on both sides of these cases, and she previously worked as a claims adjuster with USAA and Gallagher Bassett. Ms. Widowfield is also an active leader in the legal community, serving as vice president of Ms. Esquire and frequently speaking and writing on professional empowerment and leadership. She is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District courts for the Northern, Southern, and Middle districts of Florida. Ms. Widowfield earned her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law and her B.S. degree from Kent State University.
