How do I report my New Mexico CLE credits?

NBI reports your credit to the Board of Bar Commissioners of the State Bar of New Mexico.

The Board of Bar Commissioners of the State Bar of New Mexico will send you an annual report with your total CLE credits reported for the prior year. Notify the Board by March 1 if corrections need to be made.

How many New Mexico CLE credits can I carry over?

New Mexico attorneys can carry over 12.00 CLE credits for one compliance year, including up to 2.00 ethics credits and 1.00 equity in justice credit.

Additional excess ethics credits will be applied as follows:

  • First, applied to meet general CLE requirements in the current compliance year
  • Next, carried over to the next compliance year to meet ethics credits
  • Third, carried over to the next compliance year to meet general CLE requirements

Only four (4) self-study credit hours may be carried over as part of the twelve (12) hours of credits. No credit may be carried over for more than 1 compliance period.
