Brooke A. Howard
is an attorney at the Law Offices of Howard & Howard. A lifelong resident of Fauquier County, Virginia, Mr. Howard (aka BITsquire) left the area to pursue his undergraduate degree at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, he graduated in 2008 with a major in Sociology and a minor in English. Following graduation, Mr. Howard interned with the Honorable Terrence R. Ney of the Fairfax County Circuit Court. Later that year, he began a clerkship with Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, working under the mentorship of legendary Commonwealth’s Attorney Paul B. Ebert. From 2008 through 2011, he continued working with the office during his summer breaks from law school. He earned his J.D. from the Appalachian School of Law in 2012 and was admitted to practice in both Virginia and Washington, D.C. Since 2013, Mr. Howard has obtained hundreds of favorable results for clients in both criminal and civil matters. He has served as lead counsel in a wide range of criminal cases across Virginia, from high-profile first-degree murder, malicious wounding, and sexual assault trials to complex white-collar fraud matters and more routine charges such as DUI and assault. His appellate work includes two published Virginia Supreme Court decisions involving constitutional double jeopardy and issues related to guilty plea acceptance and logistics. Mr. Howard was named a Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers Rising Star every year from 2018 through 2024. Since 2018, he has gradually shifted his practice to an even split between criminal litigation and domestic/civil litigation. His family law work has also earned him the Thomson Reuters/LawInfo.com Lead Counsel Designation in the area of domestic relations and divorce since 2023. He is peer-rated 4.3 out of 5 by Martindale-Hubbell.

Ann E. Motl
is an attorney with Bowman and Brooke. She concentrates her practice defending medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers in individual product liability lawsuits, mass torts, multidistrict litigation and class actions, leveraging her mechanical engineering background to practice in the intersection of technology and law. Ms. Motl has experience serving as national coordinating counsel for medical device companies and always strives to preserve company resources while reducing risk. She has appeared in state and federal courts across the country conducting witness interviews, depositions and drafting and arguing motions. Ms. Motl devises and provides technology strategy to her clients in a variety of areas, including discovery, witness interviews, corporate deposition preparation and expert witness work. She is well-versed in eDiscovery and handles almost all aspects of the discovery process for her medical device clients including identification, collection, protective orders, ESI protocols, document review and production of documents.

Jacqueline Brant
is an attorney at Bowman and Brooke LLP. She concentrates her practice defending drug and device and pharmaceutical manufacturers in product liability litigation. Ms. Brant has performed extensive research regarding ongoing issues with AI in the medical device field, which predicted future hotspots of litigation related to AI in medical devices and analyzed the FDA's evolving governance concerning AI technologies in medical devices and medical trials. She earned her B.A. degree from Oberlin College and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from University of Minnesota Law School.

Michelle Lester
is an associate attorney practicing in product liability with a focus on warranty defense, asbestos and medical device cases. She is highly skilled in legal research, writing and provides value to trial teams and clients. Ms. Lester previously served as a summer associate with Bowman and Brooke, where she gained valuable experience working on medical device and asbestos teams. In this role, she prepared cases for a MDL through document review and writing white papers. She also performed legal research and assisted with writing deposition summaries. Ms. Lester spent time with the Ramsey County Attorney's Office during law school where she managed several sentencing calendars every week. In this capacity, she would appear on her own as a certified student attorney attending sentencings, omnibus hearings, bail and sentencing arguments on behalf of the state. She earned her B.A. degree from Saint Mary's University and her J.D. degree from University of St. Thomas School of Law.
