A lifelong resident of Fauquier County, Virginia, Mr. Howard (aka BITsquire) left the area to pursue his undergraduate degree at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. He graduated in 2008 with a major in Sociology and a minor in English. Following graduation, Mr. Howard interned with the Honorable Terrence R. Ney of the Fairfax County Circuit Court. Later that year, he began a clerkship with Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, working under the mentorship of legendary Commonwealth's Attorney Paul B. Ebert. From 2008 through 2011, Mr. Howard continued working with the office during his summer breaks from law school. He earned his J.D. degree from the Appalachian School of Law in 2012 and was admitted to practice in both Virginia and Washington, D.C. Since 2013, Mr. Howard has obtained hundreds of favorable results for clients in both criminal and civil matters. Mr. Howard's appellate work includes two published Virginia Supreme Court decisions involving constitutional double jeopardy and issues related to guilty plea acceptance and logistics. He was named a Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers Rising Star every year from 2018 through 2024.
