Robert Smith

is a shareholder with Fabyanske Westra Hart & Thomson PA in Minneapolis, Minneapolis. He has a unique background that allows him to approach projects from a client's perspective. For the first twelve years of his career, Mr. Smith practiced at one of Minneapolis's largest law firms where he resolved construction disputes through trials, arbitrations, mediations and negotiated settlements. He then spent the next eight years working as an in-house construction lawyer, including seven years as in-house counsel for one of the ten largest general contractors in North America. Having been a client and supervised outside counsel across the country, Mr. Smith understands what matters to construction clients and the importance of resolving disputes quickly and efficiently. He is a member of Minnesota State Bar Association, American Bar Association and Hennepin County Bar Association. Mr. Smith earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Concordia College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School.

In the unlikely event that NBI cancels or reschedules an upcoming program, each registered attendee will be contacted via email by a representative of NBI. Outreach to attendees begins as soon as NBI is made aware that a program will not move forward at its originally scheduled date and time.
