Matthew C. Samley
is a partner with the law firm of Appel Yost LLP in Lancaster. He practices in the areas of bankruptcy and creditors' rights, real estate, business transactions, small business formation, business buy-sell, estate planning and administration. Mr. Samley serves as parliamentarian for the Lancaster County Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Council. He is on the adjunct faculty for Harrisburg Area Community College in Lancaster, where he teaches a variety of courses in the Departments of Business Studies and Social Sciences. Mr. Samley frequently presents at professional education programs on landlord-tenant collection law, ethics, LLC formation, contracts, and bankruptcy. He is a member of the Business Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Estate Planning Council of Lancaster County and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference. Mr. Samley serves on the Board of Directors of the Lancaster Bar Association and on an advisory board to the Lancaster County Community Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic. He earned his B.S. degree, cum laude, from Millersville University and J.D. degree from Dickinson School of Law.

Eric M. Steven
is the principal and managing attorney of Steven Law Office in Spokane with a practice emphasis in the area of landlord-tenant relations and housing. He practices in both state and federal courts in all Washington counties east of the Cascades and in northern Idaho. Mr. Steven litigates landlord/tenant cases involving eviction, ejectment, commercial litigation, fair housing claims, and a variety of other landlord-tenant issues. He is one of the few attorneys in Washington to actually defend a fair housing case in a federal court jury trial. Mr. Steven is acting counsel for numerous property owners, landlords, management companies, mobile home parks, and subsidized housing providers. He is active in legislative reform and advisory counsel for the Washington Apartment Association. Mr. Steven earned his B.A. degree from the University of Oklahoma and his J.D. degree from Gonzaga University School of Law. As a licensed instructor in real estate, he frequently lectures to attorneys, property managers, law enforcement, and owners at continuing legal education programs. He is the author of From Landlord/Tenant to Debt Collector/Consumer and Back Again, Gonzaga Law Review, and A Comparison of Residential Tenancies in Idaho and Washington State (2013), now available on the internet, publication pending. For the last several years, Mr. Steven has been an invited speaker at the Trends conference in Seattle, Washington, the northwest's largest rental housing management conference. As one of the most highly evaluated CLE instructors statewide in 2003, he was selected by the Washington State Bar Association to speak in the WSBA Encore "Best of CLE" series. Mr. Steven is a frequent speaker for the Washington State Bar and Spokane County Bar Association. He is a member of the Washington State, Idaho, Spokane County, Federal and Eastern District of Washington Bankruptcy bar associations. In 2019, Steven Law Office was named Top Housing Law Firm of the Year by Lawyer Monthly magazine. In 2023, Inc. magazine named Steven Law Office a Power Partner in business. Mr. Steven was named by National Business Institute, a nationwide CLE sponsor, as the "Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year for 2023", based upon peer review and other factors.

Robyn K. Kish
is an associate at Lavelle Law, Ltd. She earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, in English from Bradley University in 2001 and her J.D. degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2005. Ms. Kish's practice is concentrated in condominium law, collections, and mortgage foreclosures. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, CAI, and ACHTA.

James A. Hochman
is a partner with the Chicago firm of Schain Banks Kenny & Schwartz, Ltd., where he represents commercial real estate brokerage firms, landlords, tenants, and commercial real estate investors, assisting in all phases of commercial and residential real estate. Mr. Hochman is a frequent speaker on real estate broker-related legal issues for state and local estate organizations. He co-wrote and sponsored the Illinois Commercial Real Estate Broker Lien Act; and through his drafting and lobbying efforts, several other states have adopted similar statutes. Mr. Hochman is also active in support of license portability legislation for commercial real estate brokers, and is the architect and drafter of statutes in several estates on that issue as well. He is a frequent speaker for NBI on real estate topics, and he recently completed the chapter on real estate brokerage law for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Education (IICLE), soon to be published. Mr. Hochman also teaches a course on commercial leases for the Society of Industrial and Office Brokers (SIOR), and writes a quarterly column for SIOR called "Plain Speaking from a Lawyer." He earned his A.B. degree from Brown University and his J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law.

Andrew L. Crabtree
is the principal of the Law Offices of Andrew L. Crabtree, P.C., where his firm focuses on transactional and litigated real estate, landlord-tenant, construction and general commercial business matters. He has a broad background in residential condominium development and sales in commercial leasing; and represents commercial owners, developers, purchasers and tenants, including a national franchise chain in commercial leasing and landlord and tenant matters. Mr. Crabtree represents businesses and individuals in federal and state trial courts, as well as in arbitrations and before administrative tribunals involving commercial disputes, constitutional claims, partnership and shareholder disputes, breach of contract claims, business torts, unfair competition, employment claims, trade secrets and intellectual property cases. He also represents contractors, owners, developers, design professionals, municipalities and state agencies relating to public and private construction and development projects, mechanics' liens, commercial lease disputes and landlord-tenant matters. Mr. Crabtree is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and Suffolk County Bar Association. He earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany and his J.D. degree from Fordham University Law School.
