Gene Brentley Tanner
is a partner with Parker Bryan Britt Tanner & Jenkins, PLLC. He was certified by the North Carolina State Bar as a board-certified specialist in the area of family law in 2012. Mr. Tanner focuses his practice on family law matters including separation, divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, military pension division orders, court orders acceptable for processing, issues related to survivor benefit plans, property distribution, high-asset divorces, divorces involving complex business valuations, professional practice divorces, domestic violence, premarital agreements, separation and property settlement agreements, and qualified domestic relations orders. He is known both statewide and nationally as an expert in family law matters related to military divorce issues, military pension division orders, federal pension divisions, court orders acceptable for processing, and former spouse survivor benefit rights. Mr. Tanner earned his B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. degree from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. He is a member of the Wake County Bar Association, Tenth Judicial District Bar, Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and Family Law Section of the American Bar Association.

Elysia Prendergast-Jones
is managing attorney with Legal Aid of North Carolina. She is a board-certified specialist in family law. She supervises other in-house attorneys on family and domestic violence matters, advising on legal precedents, legal instruments, and the correct application of laws and statutes in district, superior and appellate courts. Ms. Prendergast-Jones also speaks at numerous CLE seminars and trainings. She earned her B.A. degree from Coker College, her M.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Webster University, and her J.D. degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

Angela W. McIlveen
is a partner with McIlveen Family Law Firm. She focuses her practice exclusively on litigation-related issues and handles cases in family law, including child custody and support, divorce, alimony, adoption, separation, domestic violence, and equitable distribution. With her years of experience in all areas of litigation including discovery, court motion hearings, deposition, trial, mediation and appeals, she has handled many cases in state and federal court. Ms. McIlveen is frequently interviewed by the media, including Fox News, Business Leader Spotlight, and Arroe Collins 99.7 Unplugged and Totally Uncut. She is a member of the Gaston County, North Carolina (board member, Family Law and Law Practice Management sections) and American (Family Law and Law Practice Management sections) bar associations. Ms. McIlveen is the author of The North Carolina Divorce Guidebook. She is also a member of the National Women Trial Lawyers. Ms. McIlveen earned her B.A. degree from Lenoir Rhyne University and her J.D. degree from Case Law School.

Heather Williams Forshey
opened Raleigh Divorce Law Firm in May 2010. She is a board-certified family law specialist, a parenting coordinator and is certified as a family financial mediator by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission. Ms. Williams Forshey's firm only handles divorce, domestic issues, adoptions, appeals of family law issues, and related matters. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association. Ms. Williams Forshey is involved in a number of pro bono efforts, including representing domestic violence victims through Legal Aid's Advocacy Program, handling appeals for the guardian ad litem program and assisting with fundraising efforts for the Friends of the Wake County Guardian ad Litem program. She earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Elon University and her J.D. degree from Wake Forest University School of Law.

is a senior attorney with the law firm of Miller Cushing Holladay, PLLC in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has been practicing family law since 2017 and focuses on divorce, child custody, child support, equitable distribution, alimony and property settlement agreements. Ms. Mulhern earned her B.A. degree from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. degree from Widener University School of Law. She is admitted to the North Carolina Bar and the U.S. District Court, Western District of North Carolina.

is the founding attorney of Touchstone Family Law, with offices located in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Fort Mill, South Carolina. She practices in all areas of family law including, domestic law, collaborative law and mediation. Ms. Sellers is board certified by the North Carolina State Bar's Board of Legal Specialization. She taught continuing legal education for South Carolina and North Carolina and she taught legal research for Midlands Technical College. Ms. Sellers is certified as a Family Financial Mediation and Family Law Specialist. She earned her B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University and her J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Ms. Sellers has a Domestic Mediation Certification from Ann Arbor Center for Mediation. She is a member of the Mecklenburg County, North Carolina and American bar associations, and the South Carolina Bar.
