Speaker bio
Daniel E. Lynch
is principal of Daniel E. Lynch Law Firm, P.C., where his practice consists primarily of the defense of workers' compensation and liability claims. He has been a frequent lecturer on workers' compensation topics for insurance carriers, third party administrators, employers, and other organizations. Mr. Lynch is a graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law (J.D. degree) and James Madison University (B.B.A. degree). He has been elected to The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation and is a member of the Virginia Workers' Compensation American Inn of Court. Mr. Lynch authored the articles on developments in Virginia workers' compensation law in the 1997, 1998 and 1999 Annual Survey of Virginia Law issues of the University of Richmond Law Review. He was included in Virginia Super Lawyers in workers' compensation for the years 2008-2009, and 2012-2024. Mr. Lynch is licensed to practice before all state and federal courts in Virginia and before the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys and the Richmond Bar Association (past president).

W. David Falcon, Jr.
is a founding partner of the law firm Ackerman & Falcon, LLP, where he concentrates his practice on trying cases before the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission. He is admitted to practice in Virginia and Washington, D.C. Mr. Falcon earned his B.A. degree from the College of William & Mary and his J.D. degree from the University of Richmond. He is a fellow of the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers and a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Workers' Injury Law and Advocacy Group, and serves as counselor of the Virginia Workers' Compensation American Inns of Court.

Paul W. Emigholz
is a partner at the Richmond office of Cipriani & Werner, P.C. He focuses his practice on representing insurance carriers and employers in workers' compensation claims before the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission, including appeals. Mr. Emigholz is a frequent course instructor for insurance professionals and attorneys on best practices for record keeping, accident prevention, accident investigation and post-accident cost containment best practices. He also possesses extensive experience regarding workers' compensation lien recovery via subrogation in Virginia, as well as in consultation with local counsel regarding civil actions filed in North Carolina, Maryland, Massachusetts, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. Mr. Emigholz earned his B.A. degree from the University of Washington and his J.D. degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.
