She implemented landmark therapy dog programs in Louisiana: the first in 22nd JDC Juvenile court and the first in a Louisiana Assisted Outpatient Treatment program. Ms. Sheppard is a three-time Louisiana Bar pro bono award winner and her children's book Court of Paw™ is nationally recognized for teaching youth about therapy dogs. In 2025, she was selected as ABA Outstanding Lawyer On The Rise and named a Diversity Fellow.
