Speaker bio
Johanna A. Pickel
is an attorney at Pickel Law PC. Her practice focuses in the areas of estate planning, elder law, special needs planning probate, and estate and trust administration. Ms. Pickel is a member of the Special Needs Alliance (SNA) and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), past chair of the Elder Law Section of the State Bar of New Mexico, and past division chair of the Trust and Estate Division of the Real Property, Estate and Trust Section of the State Bar of New Mexico. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Montana and her Master of Arts degree in special education from New Mexico State University. Ms. Pickel earned her J.D. degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law and her LL.M. degree, in estate planning and elder law, from Western New England University School of Law.

Danielle M. Shyne
is the CEO and managing attorney of Shyne Law Group in Bozeman, Montana. Her practice focuses on elder law, estate planning, probate and trust administration, guardian and conservatorship, as well as special needs and disability planning. Prior to opening Shyne Law Group, Ms. Shyne worked for Montana Elder Law and clerked for the Honorable Chief Justice Mike McGrath and the Honorable Michael Wheat of the Montana Supreme Court. She is a member of the Montana State Bar, the Business, Estates, Trusts, Tax & Real Property Section of the Montana State Bar, the Gallatin County Bar Association, and the Washington State Bar. In 2022, Ms. Shyne was recognized as 'Gallatin's Greatest' and 'Gallatin's 20 under 40'. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Gonzaga University School of Law and is admitted to practice in Montana and Washington.
