Brad Berkman
is a member of the hospitality, alcohol and leisure industry group at Greenspoon Marder LLP. He concentrates on providing guidance to all tiers of the alcohol beverage industry, including suppliers, wholesalers and retailers. Mr. Berkman's principal expertise is providing counsel to upper-tier industry members on legal, regulatory, and operational concerns within the framework of federal and state(s) beverage alcohol laws and regulations. Areas of focus include complex Tied-House issues, contract negotiations, drafting and disputes, trade practice concerns, distribution matters, international trade of beverage alcohol and TTB and state alcohol beverage control issues. He has also advised third-party marketing companies, celebrity brand owners and influencers on many trade practice matters. Mr. Berkman is also versed in municipal zoning, permitting and licensing of vendors of alcohol (bars, restaurants and hotels). As an additional note, he grew up in the business and has deep ancestral roots in the trade. His great-grandmother was a pioneer in the field who was one of the first women to hold a liquor "salesman's" license in the State of New York. She parlayed that start into a large, female, and eventually family-owned beer distributorship that served the five boroughs of New York City for many decades. He earned his B.A. degree in international relations from American University, School of International Service; M.S. degree in forensic science from George Washington University; and his J.D. degree from St. Thomas University of Law. Mr. Berkman is admitted to practice in Florida.

Jaci P. Flug
is a partner in the hospitality, alcohol, and leisure industry group at Greenspoon Marder LLP. She is a seasoned legal professional with a remarkable track record of guiding tech startups and corporations through complex legal landscapes. Ms. Flug has previously served as general counsel and senior vice president at Drizly, the nation's leading and largest e-commerce platform for on-demand alcohol delivery. During this time, she played a pivotal role in the company's journey, from series C fundraising to its $1.1 billion acquisition by an American tech giant, a deal that involved extensive scrutiny by the Federal Trade Commission. Beyond this, Ms. Flug has provided important counsel on a wide spectrum of legal matters, ranging from litigation and employment law to contracting, privacy, security, and marketing. Moreover, she is a recognized authority in the beverage alcohol industry, having expertly managed industry and regulatory affairs, fostering crucial relationships with regulators, legislators, industry members, and trade associations. Ms. Flug frequently lectures on the topic of beverage alcohol e-commerce. As general counsel for the New York State Liquor Authority, she advised the board on all disciplinary, licensing, and trade practice matters, including the legislation concerning the manufacturing, distribution, and sale of alcohol in the state of New York. Ms. Flug earned her B.A. degree in American studies from SUNY and her J.D. degree, cum laude (special topics editor, New York Law School Journal of Human Rights) from New York Law School.

Melissa K. Roeder
joined Serpe Andrews as an of counsel attorney in 2025. Her areas of expertise include, abuse and misconduct, asbestos defense, cannabis law, premises liability, product liability, talc defense, toxic tort, and transportation to name a few. Ms. Roeder has tried over a dozen asbestos/toxic tort matters in Washington and Oregon. The most notable trial was a defense verdict from a five-week trial in King County (Seattle) Washington involving dual plaintiffs (husband and wife) both suffering from mesothelioma. A double defense verdict was reached within one and a half days even with both plaintiffs being brought into the courtroom on stretchers with their entire health care teams. Career achievements include being selected as one of the Top 100 Women Lawyers in Washington State, a Super Lawyer since 2012, a Rising Star from 2008-2011 and the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers' Outstanding Litigation Associate in 2008. She earned her B.S. degree from South Dakota University and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Christine Dower
is an attorney with the Washington, DC office of McDermott Will & Emery LLP. She is an attorney in the alcohol regulatory and distribution practice group. Ms. Dower advises clients in the alcohol beverage, nontraditional beverage, private equity and growing cannabis industries on regulatory, litigation and transactional issues. She has substantial experience conducting due diligence on behalf of companies seeking to acquire or invest in the alcohol beverage industry. Ms. Dower counsels clients in a variety of complex transactions, including acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic investments, on the legality of corporate structures and proposed investments under federal and state trade practice laws and regulations. Her work in this area includes advising clients on the risks involved in such transactions, drafting and negotiating the relevant provisions of transactional documents, and evaluating associated licensing requirements and post-closing distribution strategies. Ms. Dower earned her B.A. degree from University of Delaware and her J.D. degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Oren Bitan
is a shareholder at Buchalter APC. He has an extensive legal background that includes business, real estate, banking, receivership law, consumer product, and commercial litigation. Mr. Bitan is also co-chair of Buchalter's cannabis industry group. In that capacity, he advises cannabis related businesses on a wide variety of topics, including disputes regarding business licenses, receiverships over grow facilities and dispensaries, real property development, leasing, and financing for cannabis related businesses, and assembling teams of attorneys to provide general corporate, employment, and intellectual property advice to the industry. Mr. Bitan earned his B.S. degree from the University of Southern California and his J.D. degree, cum laude, at Loyola Law School.

Aaron M. Levine
is a shareholder in Buchalter APCs Los Angeles office. His practice is focused on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation, and he has experience handling all phases of litigation from inception through resolution. Mr. Levine's clients include multinational corporations, energy companies, financial institutions, apparel companies, fashion designers, technology companies, and small business owners. He was selected by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star from 2020-2024. In addition, Mr. Levine was also named to Best Lawyer’s “Ones to Watch” list in 2024 & 2025. He graduated from Loyola Law School, where he was the senior article and symposia editor of the Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review. Mr. Levine earned his B.A. degree in communication from the University of Southern California in 2006. Prior to law school, he represented Fortune 500 technology companies, international film festivals, and an assortment of celebrities and other media personalities at an award-winning entertainment, lifestyle, and corporate-focused public relations firm. Mr. Levine also spent several years as a talent agent at a boutique entertainment agency. In this role, he was charged with routing nation-wide tours and helping nationally recognized recording artists cultivate and develop previously under-utilized revenue streams.

Gillian Garrett
is the founding member of Gillian Garrett Law, PC. She advises and represents alcohol beverage industry clients (producer, importer, wholesaler and retailer) on California and federal alcohol law. Ms. Garrett's practice areas include litigation, including protests accusations and regulatory representation; trade practices and compliance; internal investigations; training; marketing, promotions and events; distribution relationships and commercial transactions. He represents clients in mediation and arbitration and before the California ABC, the California ABC Appeals Board and the TTB. Ms. Garrett is a seasoned trial lawyer with 20 years of experience. She practices throughout California and has successfully represented hundreds of clients. Prior to founding Gillian Garrett Law, PC, Ms. Garrett was a senior counsel at Hinman & Carmichael, LLP in San Francisco, where she specialized in alcohol law. Before then, she was a litigation associate with the international law firm, Jones Day, in Palo Alto, California, where she focused on commercial litigation, internal investigations and products liability. Prior to that, Ms. Garrett was a litigation associate at the international law firm, Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, LLP in Los Angeles, California, where she worked on a variety of complex business litigation matters, including class actions, internal investigations, unfair competition, First Amendment and employment. Ms. Garrett graduated from Pomona College in 1998 with honors. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley Law School (formerly Boalt Hall) in 2002. Ms. Garrett is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in California.

Alexis Hartwell-Gobeske
is the managing attorney at Dynamic Law Group PLLC. and has been practicing in the cannabis industry since 2014 as counsel for licensees and applicants. She provides strategic guidance to clients designed to maximize success in the industry, and regularly serves as outside general counsel to cannabis and liquor licensees. Ms. Hartwell-Gobeske's skillset encompasses all facets of business operations, from formation to exit. She served as the chair of the Liquor, Cannabis, and Psychedelics Law Section of the WSBA and is an allied member of the Brewers Guild. Ms. Hartwell-Gobeske has presented on various facets of cannabis and liquor law as CLE faculty over the past several years.
