Speaker bio
Louis G. Guzzo
is a sole practitioner in the Law Office of Louis G. Guzzo, where he concentrates his practice in all issues relating to family law, including divorce, custody, child support, adoption, and domestic violence matters. He serves as an early settlement panelist for Burlington and Camden counties; and is a member of the Camden County (member, Family Law Committee); New Jersey State and American bar associations. Mr. Guzzo is also a former member of the Thomas S. Forkin Inns of Court. He earned his B.S. degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and his J.D. degree from Rutgers University School of Law.

David B. Bice
earned his B.A. degree from the University of Virginia in 1978, and his J.D. degree from Samford University, Cumberland School of Law in 1984. He maintains a private practice, which is primarily centered in family law, the collaborative practice model and civil litigation. Mr. Bice is active with the local bar, serving as president of the Young Attorneys Section. He just finished his last term on the board of the Lynchburg Bar Association. Mr. Bice developed a series of training programs for special justices that were presented to the state’s special justices for two years, 2001 & 2002 prior to the current mandatory programs offered. He has been a contributor to a number of special projects including the Virginia Supreme Court’s Commission on Mental Health Law 2008-2009, Rules Task Force 2010-11, Ethics Panel 2012, Task Force to review restoration of firearms rights 2013, and most recently served for two years on a legislative work group convened to redraft the statutes on mandatory outpatient treatment. Mr. Bice continues to serve as a member of the faculty for OES trainings. On separate fronts, he has written articles for the Virginia State Bar, and just finished his term on the Technology and the Practice of Law Committee with the Virginia State Bar, as well as presenting in various areas for family law seminars both locally and nationally. Based on a peer review, Mr. Bice has received the designation of Super Lawyer in Family Law. Mr. Bice has also received the designation from the Virginia Law Foundation as Qualified Master Counselor in Divorce and Family Law Practice.

Susan Meisel Levin
owns a Miami-based adoption practice and has placed hundreds of children for adoption. She represents birth/adoptive/foster parents and agencies in domestic and intercountry cases, including contested cases and appeals. She routinely consults with adoptive parents, agencies, and public domestic authorities on incoming and out-going adoptions from Hague and other countries. She advises clients nationwide on adoption-related immigration options for foreign born children. Ms. Levin is Board Certified in Adoption Law. She is a 1992 graduate of the University of Florida College of Law (top 6%). She clerked for an appellate court judge, taught at the Florida State University College of Law, and served as in-house counsel at an adoption agency. Ms. Levin earned an LL.M. in Intercultural Human Rights from St. Thomas University of Law where she was the LL.M editor of the Law Review and won numerous academic awards, including one on Women's Rights and Rights of the Child.

Karen S. Law
is an adoption and immigration attorney practicing in Virginia. Her immigration practice is national. Ms. Law graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1985 and became licensed in Virginia in that same year. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Virginia State Bar and Virginia Women Attorneys Association. Ms. Law also co-chaired the International Adoptions Committee for the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys for three years and served on the AILA International Operations Liaison Committee for two years. Working with those professional associations, she submitted comments to USCIS on proposed rules, operating procedures and policy memoranda. Ms. Law also has assisted with drafting federal and state legislation and has provided comments and technical expertise to legislators. She was designated as a 2013 Angel in Adoption by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption. In cooperation with the Loudoun County Department of Family Services and the Virginia Women Attorneys Association, Ms. Law has co-chaired the annual celebration of adoption in Loudoun County, Virginia, Loudoun Adoption Day, for eleven years. She often speaks at national conferences on intercountry adoption issues and publishes articles on those same topics. Ms. Law enjoys volunteering at orphanages throughout the world, including South Africa, Nicaragua, Honduras, Mexico, Belize, and Jamaica.
