Speaker bio
Brenda L. Wahler
is a solo practice family law attorney in Helena. Prior to entering private practice, she was an attorney for the State of Montana. Ms. Wahler earned her J.D. degree from the University of Montana in 2002, following a career as a high school social studies teacher. A lifelong Montanan, she is also a historian and writer who enjoys digging into the deeper stories behind the myths of the American West. Ms. Wahler is past chair of the Law-Related Education Committee of the State Bar of Montana, past president of the First Judicial District Bar Association, and active in promoting civic education.

Louise Lark Hill
is a Distinguished Emerita Professor of Law with Delaware Law School of Widener University. She joined the faculty at Delaware Law School as a visiting associate professor from 1987 - 1988, served as associate professor from 1988 - 1992, and served as professor of law beginning in 1992. Professor Hill was Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs from 1995 - 1997. Professor Hill teaches and writes in the areas of commercial law, professional responsibility, and wills and trusts. Following graduation from law school, she clerked for the Honorable Don J. Young, United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, from 1978 - 1980. Professor Hill joined the United States Department of Justice as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of Ohio, from 1980 - 1983, during which time she was also an adjunct professor of law at the University of Toledo College of Law. She joined the faculty at the University of Toledo College of Law as a visiting assistant professor from 1983 - 1984, and served there as assistant professor of law from 1984 - 1986, and as associate professor from 1986 - 1987. Professor Hill is admitted to practice in the states of Massachusetts, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. She has been active in a number of professional and civic organizations, including the American Bar Association (Commission on Advertising, past chair; Advisory Council of the Commission on Responsibility in Client Development, past member), and the Association of American Law Schools Professional Responsibility Section (Executive Committee, chair of the Nominating Committee). Professor Hill earned her B.A. degree from Pennsylvania State University; her M.Ed. degree from Boston University; and her J.D. degree from Suffolk University Law School, where she served on the Suffolk University Law Review. She is the author of numerous works on ethical and other legal issues in various legal publications.

Howard L. Lotven
is a sole practitioner with the law office of Howard L. Lotven P.C. He primarily represents clients in criminal/municipal courts and traffic courts. Mr. Lotven has been either a prosecutor or a defense attorney in more than 10,000 cases. He also represents clients in family law matters, including divorce, paternity, modification of child support, custody and visitation. Mr. Lotven's professional associations and memberships include Volunteer Attorney Project, The Missouri Bar General Practice Committee, Municipal Court Prosecutors Association of Western Missouri, Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Judges Association, and Association of Women Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in Missouri, and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri and U.S. Federal Court. Mr. Lotven earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from Drake University and his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.
