has been an attorney and certified mediator for more than 30 years. She owns the Metts Law Firm, LLC located in Columbia, SC. The firm represents clients in the areas of automobile & truck accidents, divorce, wrongful death & medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, and social security & veteran disability claims. In addition to her law practice, she is an Adjunct Business Law Professor at Benedict College, a real estate broker, a certified victim services provider, and a board member for Vital Connections of the Midlands, an early childhood advocacy agency for at risk families. She began her legal career as an assistant public defender with the Newberry County Public Defender’s Office and managing attorney with the Pyatt Law Firm. She is a recently retired Magistrate Judge for Richland County and retired town attorney for the Town of Carlisle in Union, South Carolina. Ms. Metts earned her B.S. degree from the University of South Carolina and her J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the South Carolina Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court.
