Annette Berry

was elected to the Wayne County Circuit Court Bench in November 2000, and re-elected in 2006, 2012, 2018, and 2024. Since 2013, Judge Berry has served in the Civil Division of the Third Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan. In 2023, Judge Berry was appointed by the Michigan Supreme Court to serve on the Wayne County Business Court and was recently re-appointed to a six-year term. She served in the Criminal Division from 2001-2013. Judge Berry received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctorate from Michigan State University Law School, formerly the Detroit College of Law. In 1988, she joined the Office of the Michigan Attorney General after being appointed as an assistant attorney general by Attorney General Frank J. Kelly. During her distinguished career with the Department of Attorney General, Judge Berry served as legal counsel for the Department of Licensing and Regulation, Department of Education, Department of Consumer and Industry Affairs/Insurance and Banking Division, the Department of Secretary of State, and the Criminal Division. Judge Berry has served as past president of the Michigan Judges Association (MJA), which is comprised of Michigan judges who serve at the Trial and Appellate level, and has served as a member of the Executive Board of Directors for nearly two decades and previously served as chairperson for the Corrections Committee. Judge Berry currently serves on the Judicial Council of the State Bar of Michigan (SBM) and served as chair; the Judicial Ethics Committee, State Bar of Michigan (SBM); State Bar of Michigan (SBM) Special Committee on Professionalism & Civility; as a member of the Michigan Model Civil Jury Instructions Committee and as a delegate to the American Bar Association (ABA), Judicial Division. She previously served as a member of the Michigan Model Criminal Jury Instructions Committee from 2008-2015; member of the Michigan Court Forms Committee, State Court Administrator Office (SCAO); member of the Access to Justice Policy Committee, State Bar of Michigan (SBM); and former chairperson, Receivership Forms Committee (SCAO). Judge Berry is a fellow with the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation and a fellow with the Detroit Bar Association. Since 2008, Judge Berry serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where her courses include Ethics, Criminal Law, and Comparative Criminal Justice Systems in the Criminology & Criminal Justice Program. She taught as an adjunct professor for the Ave Maria School of Law, Ann Arbor, Michigan Florida.

He is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern districts of Texas. Mr. Madden was the articles editor for the Houston Journal of International Law. He was the judicial intern to the Honorable David Hittner, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas; and a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph James "Tad" Halbach, Jr., 333rd District Court, Harris County, Texas. Mr. Madden is a member of the Houston Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Texas Young Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America and Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, his B.S. degree from the University of Houston and his J.D. degree from the University of Houston Law Center.

is an associate with Chehardy Sherman Williams, specializing in complex civil litigation, including personal injury litigation. He is a military veteran who served 11 years of active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard before practicing law, where his responsibilities were tailored to finances, logistics and hurricane response. Mr. Packer graduated from American Military University with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, and earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law while fulfilling his active-duty military service. While earning his law degree, he was an extern for the U.S. Coast Guard’s District 8 Legal Division and the Honorable Bruce T. Smith (retired), a then administrative law judge for the Department of Homeland Security. Mr. Packer also interned for the Honorables Paula Brown and Dale Atkins at the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, A.P. Tureaud Inn of Court and Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society. Mr. Packer is admitted to practice in Louisiana.
