Depose with Dignity, Litigate With Integrity
I will serve as an officer of the court, encouraging respect for the law in all that I do and avoiding abuse or misuse of the law, its procedures, its participants and its processes. -The American Inns of Court Professional Creed
I will represent the interests of my client with vigor and will seek the most expeditious and least costly solutions to problems, resolving disputes through negotiation whenever possible. -The American Inns of Court Professional Creed
The discovery phase of litigation - and depositions in particular - is often where opposing parties first interact in real time. These interactions can set the tone for the remainder of the case. Civility and professionalism in this context are not just aspirational values; they are essential to ensuring the integrity of the legal process, protecting the rights of all parties involved, and upholding the reputation of the legal profession. This program, presented by NBI in partnership with the American Inns of Court, will show you how to promote these principles and foster meaningful, productive exchanges during discovery.
