James M. Snow
is a sole practitioner in High Point, where his areas of practice include estate planning and settlement, estate litigation, asset protection, elder law, workers' compensation, personal injury law and business law. Mr. Snow is a member of several professional organizations, including the NC Advocates for Justice and the North Carolina Bar Association. He is past president of the High Point Bar Association, and the first winner of the Fisher-Haworth Award for outstanding service to the bar. He earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mark J. Ihnat
is senior counsel with Michael Best & Friedrich LLP in Wilmington, North Carolina. His practice is focused on representing individuals in estate planning and administration, including the preparation of trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and charitable planning. Mr. Ihnat collaborates with the firm’s corporate attorneys to advise business owners and executives on business succession planning, and other matters related to the protection of their assets. Prior to joining Michael Best, he was a co-founder and partner of a civil and criminal law firm in Wilmington, where he led the firm’s estate planning practice. Mr. Ihnat completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his J.D. degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

Elizabeth Arentz Smith
is an attorney with the law firm of Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton LLP in Raleigh. She is a member of the firm's trust and estates practice group. Ms. Arentz Smith's experience includes assisting clients in the preparation of estate plans ranging from simple wills to complex and sophisticated trusts. Additionally, she has represented trustees and executors in the administration of trusts and estates, assisting them in the proper implementation of a decedent's estate plan and effective discharge of their fiduciary duties. Ms. Arentz Smith earned her B.A. degree from Wittenberg University and her J.D. degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

Ms. Piekaar is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Wake County Bar Association, and a member of the Estate Planning Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. Jeffrey J. Meek
is a partner in Menden Freiman LLP's business law, tax planning, and estate planning practice areas. Mr. Meek provides comprehensive legal counsel on business, tax, and estate planning matters to high-net-worth individuals and families, as well as privately held businesses. He has represented businesses and business owners with the design and implementation of comprehensive business plans that integrate succession, tax minimization, and asset protection techniques. Throughout his career, Mr. Meek has worked on numerous high-net-worth, developing comprehensive estate, tax, wealth transfer, and business succession plans and managing formation and implementation processes for defective grantor trusts and other forms of dynastic trusts, estate freeze transactions, and charitable trusts and foundations. Before joining Menden Freiman in 2015, he was previously a senior associate attorney at Sanders Legal Group LLC, and Counsel at Avgroup, Inc. Mr. Meek earned his LL.M. in taxation from University of Alabama School of Law and his J.D. degree from Georgia State University College of Law. He is admitted to practice in Georgia and North Carolina. Mr. Meek has been recognized by Attorney at Law Magazine, Georgia Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers(trust and estates), and GaBiz Magazine. He is a chartered trust and estate planner, and an Accredited Estate Planner®. Mr. Meek currently serves as the president of the Georgia Planning Giving Council, and the Chair of the Estate Planning Committee of the Fiduciary Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia.
