Speaker bio
Howard L. Lotven
is a sole practitioner with the law office of Howard L. Lotven P.C. He primarily represents clients in criminal/municipal courts and traffic courts. Mr. Lotven has been either a prosecutor or a defense attorney in more than 10,000 cases. He also represents clients in family law matters, including divorce, paternity, modification of child support, custody and visitation. Mr. Lotven's professional associations and memberships include Volunteer Attorney Project, The Missouri Bar General Practice Committee, Municipal Court Prosecutors Association of Western Missouri, Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Judges Association, and Association of Women Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in Missouri, and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri and U.S. Federal Court. Mr. Lotven earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from Drake University and his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

Kellen M. Shearin
is an attorney with Buchanan Ingersoll and Rooney, bringing a wealth of experience in employment law and litigation. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, he has a proven track record of representing high-profile clients, including Fortune 500 companies, in both state and federal courts. Mr. Shearin's expertise extends to handling complex cases before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). He is adept at counseling clients on compliance with federal and state laws, particularly in areas such as handbook policies, pay practices, and the use of artificial intelligence in employment decisions. Mr. Shearin's meticulous approach to pre-trial litigation and his ability to draft critical employment documents make him a valuable asset to the firm. He earned his B.S. degree from Arizona State University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law, where he served as managing editor of the Law Review and held leadership roles in various student organizations. Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Shearin is actively involved in community service, serving as president of the Board of Directors for the Religious Coalition for Community Revival. He is admitted to practice in District of Columbia, Maryland, West Virginia, and North Carolina.

Jennifer S. Roach
is a partner with Thompson Hine LLP where she is a member of the firm's office of general counsel and co-chair of the Ethics Committee. She routinely advises and consults on ethics issues. Ms. Roach has also prosecuted attorneys on behalf of the Certified Grievance Committee of the Cleveland Bar Association for violation of disciplinary rules. She has over 20 years of experience helping clients resolve complex product distribution and supply chain problems. Ms. Roach's experience includes drafting, negotiating and litigating contractual arrangements among manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and dealers. She works with clients to formulate distribution strategies and draft agreements to meet their needs in the United States and internationally. Ms. Roach also advises clients and provides training on antitrust issues relating to product distribution, including product pricing programs, communications with competitors and customers, and vertical restraints. She is admitted to practice in Ohio, U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern districts of Ohio, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third and Sixth circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. Roach earned her A.B. degree, cum laude, from Duke University and her J.D. degree from Northwestern University School of Law.

Scott B. Piekarsky
is principal at Offit Kurman, Attorneys At Law, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of licensed professional matters, insurance law, general negligence, small business representation, real estate and community association law. He regularly handles cases involving general corporate and business law, professional liability, attorney ethics and professional licensing representation, expert review, community association, real estate, chancery, commercial collections, and probate and appellate law. Mr. Piekarsky is a certified civil trial attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, a Rule 1:40 mediator, a Rule 1:40 mediator mentor, and a mortgage foreclosure mediator. He is a former member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Women In The Courts. Mr. Piekarsky earned his B.S. degree, magna cum laude, from Ramapo College of New Jersey and his J.D. degree from Seton Hall University School of Law.

Jeremy Eglen
is an attorney with Eglen + Anderson, which provides personal and business law services to individuals and small business owners, including business structure, contracts and agreements, wills and trusts, landlord-tenant matters, trademarks, and copyrights. He shares his special interests and experience as an adjunct professor at Butler University, teaching classes on computer ethics. Mr. Eglen is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association. He earned his B.A. degree in computer science from Dartmouth College and his J.D. degree from the College of William and Mary-Marshall Wythe Law School. Mr. Eglen has spoken at a variety of events, for audiences as diverse as the American Antitrust Institute and the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations.
