Speaker bio
LaVonne D. Lawson
is of counsel at Leech Tishman, where she counsels small businesses, entrepreneurs and start-ups, as well as large businesses and established companies in state, federal and international tax matters. She focuses her practice on tax reporting and compliance, tax controversy and litigation, and estate planning. Ms. Lawson previously served as a senior attorney with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Office of Chief Counsel, where she counseled revenue agents and revenue officers, represented the IRS in the U.S. Tax Court, and advised Department of Justice Attorneys and Assistant U.S. Attorneys in tax cases outside of the Tax Court. She earned her B.A. degree from Stanford University, her M.B.A. degree from Duke University Fuqua School of Business and her J.D. degree from Duke University School of Law. Ms. Lawson is a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association and State Bar of California. She is admitted to practice law in California and before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Tax Court, and U.S. District Court, Central District of California.

Genevieve G. Redd
is an attorney for Leech Tishman. She focuses her practice on estate planning, trust and estate administration, succession planning and tax solutions. Ms. Redd is admitted in Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. She earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh and her J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Ms. Redd holds the John P. Gismondi Certificate in Advanced Litigation and a Tax Law Certificate. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association (co-chair, Young Lawyers Section), Allegheny County Bar Association (membership services co-chair and leadership initiative program), Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera Ambassadors Board of Governors, and the Junior League of Chicago. Ms. Redd has received a Pennsylvania Rising Star by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine, a Rising Star Award from the Chicago Bar Association, and ABA Service to the Bar Award and ABA Service to the Community Award both from Allegheny County Bar Association.
