is a New York State Supreme Court Justice. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations from Boston University and his J.D. degree from Suffolk University School of Law. Judge Muir is a licensed to practice law before the New York State Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association and the U.S. District Court Bar. Prior to being elected to the bench, he practiced law in both the private and public sectors. In 2017, Justice Muir was elected to the New York City Civil Court, where he presided over numerous cases which include no-fault litigation, contact disputes and personal injury. Two years later, he was elected to the New York State Supreme Court, where he presides over all state claims, which include but are not limited to labor law, medical malpractice, personal injury and foreclosure actions. Moreover, Justice Muir has lectured various areas of the law, including evidence, foreclosure preventions and civil litigation.

She began her career with the MTA, trying catastrophic injury and death cases. Throughout her career, Ms. Rush has successfully defended public and private entities, and has tried more than 150 jury cases to verdict in New York State. She has been recognized as being among the top 1% of lawyers in America since 2016. Ms. Rush has received a Preeminent AV rating of 5.0 / 5.0 from Martindale- Hubbell and been identified as one of the top personal injury defense attorneys in the metro New York area by both Super Lawyer Magazine and American Legal Media. She has been recognized by the Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers, New York Times and AVENUE magazine as one of New York City’s top women trial lawyers. Ms. Rush is a past president and past chairman of the Board of the Defense Association of New York (DANY), and is the vice president of the Brooklyn Women’s Bar Foundation. In 2021 she founded the DANY Trial Academy, which provides hands on training in trial skills to young lawyers. Ms. Rush is an active member of the New York City Chapter of CLM, Defense Research Institute, The Defense Association of New York, New York City Chapter of the International Association of Insurance Professionals, Association of Professional Insurance Women, New York Women's Bar Association and The Catholic Lawyers Guild. She earned her B.A. degree in political science from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut in 1980 and her J.D. degree from New York Law School in 1983. Ms. Rush is admitted to practice law in New York, as well as in the U.S. District courts for the Southern and Eastern districts of New York.

In the unlikely event that NBI cancels or reschedules an upcoming program, each registered attendee will be contacted via email by a representative of NBI. Outreach to attendees begins as soon as NBI is made aware that a program will not move forward at its originally scheduled date and time.
