Chazle’ N. Woodley
is a Commercial Litigation Attorney with Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP (GRSM) in the firm's Raleigh office and practices in business litigation, business transactions, environmental, mass torts, and land use, general liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, professional liability, and products liability matters. Ms. Woodley earned her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from North Carolina Central University. While there, she led the Dean's Student Advisory Board and served as a civil procedure tutor, Student Bar Association president, and managing editor for the Environmental Law Review. Ms. Woodley also earned her Master of Business Administration from National Louis University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a member of the DRI: Litigation Skills Steering Committee, North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys: Board Member, Nominating and Public Service Award Committee Chair, North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Young Lawyers Division, Tenth Judicial District Bar and the Wake County Bar Association. Ms. Woodley is admitted to practice in North Carolina, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, and U.S. District Court for the Middle and Western districts of North Carolina.

David S. Gould
is a partner with Russo & Gould, LLP, where he primarily focuses in personal injury litigation. He heads the firm's Early Settlement Division and has settled over 100 cases on behalf of insurance carriers and NYCHA within 12 months from their inception. Mr. Gould is also a capable and successful trial attorney who has participated in more than 100 trials and has tried over 75 cases to verdict throughout the state. His experience includes more than 25 years as a practicing attorney, three years as Assistant District Attorney with the District Attorney's Office in Queens County serving in the forensics, arraignments, trial and grand jury bureaus. Mr. Gould also teaches Continuing Legal Education courses through the Defense Association of New York. For the past 26 years he has been an Adjunct Professor at the City University of New York, Queens College where he teaches courses such as Freedom of Speech, Trial Advocacy and Media Law and Ethics. He is also a frequent lecturer for the National Business Institute continuing legal education series and has taught such courses as: Advanced Trial Tactics, Trial Skills Workshop, Mini Med School for Attorneys, Working with Experts and Using Medical Records to Prove Your Case. Mr. Gould earned his B.A. degree in communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his J.D. degree from The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. He is admitted to practice in United States District Courts for Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, New York State Bar, Connecticut State Bar and New Jersey State Bar.

Dafney Dubuisson Stokes
is the Operations Counsel at Forthright Solutions, a global provider of process design, automation, and management solutions and administrator of the state of New Jersey's No-Fault Insurance Personal Injury Protection (PIP) arbitration program under the State's Automobile Insurance Cost Reduction Act. As Operations Counsel, Ms. Dubuisson Stokes oversees New Jersey operations and provides counseling to the management team and employees on a wide range of legal matters - including high-level issues that ensure the meeting and advancement of the program's regulatory and statutory goals. She is a frequent National speaker teaching and providing up to date information and knowledge on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Ms. Dubuisson Stokes' career includes leadership roles at Wong Fleming, P.C., where she served as a Partner, representing Fortune 100 companies, leading complex litigation, and creating innovative operational processes. A graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law and Boston College she is also a respected speaker and author on legal ethics, diversity, and inclusion. Ms. Dubuisson Stokes is also a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Ethics Committee (District IIIB) and on the Board of the Marks Cares, Inc. in Montclair, New Jersey, with a mission to eradicate homelessness throughout New Jersey. She has also been recognized by NJBiz as a 2023 Leader in the Law. Ms. Dubuisson Stokes is licensed to practice law in New Jersey (2013), New York (2018), Ohio (2022) and Pennsylvania (2012). She earned her a B.A. degree, with honors, from Boston College and her J.D. degree from Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law.

Louis R. Cohan
founded Cohan Law Group, L.L.C., and has been a trial lawyer for more than 30 years. He has been recognized for his trial experience by admission into the American Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Cohan has litigated more than $900 million in claims for his clients and recently secured a Verdict in excess of $66 million in a fraud case. He has done work in breach of contract, fraud, injunctive relief, punitive damages, employment, trade secrets, real estate, construction and construction defects, and civil rights litigation. Mr. Cohan's practice is concentrated on business litigation and employment litigation, as well as civil litigation. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Georgia and his J.D. degree from Emory School of Law. Mr. Cohan has served as chair of the Litigation Section, the largest section of the Atlanta Bar Association. He has also chaired the Small Firm Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. Mr. Cohan has served on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Bar Association; and has chaired the Atlanta Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Atlanta Bar Association. He has received awards and recognition for his community and legal work. These awards include Super Lawyer, Legal Elite, Martindale-Hubbell's preeminent AV rating, American Board of Trial Advocates, America's Top 100 Attorneys, and the Celebrating Service Award. For many years, Mr. Cohan has chaired the Legal Run Around 5k road race, raising money for the children of injured and fallen Atlanta Police Department officers.

Edward O. Lear
is a partner with Century Law Group, LLP with over 38 years of litigation experience and has tried over 300 cases, including over 50 jury trials. He specializes in all aspects of trial work with emphasis on real estate and business litigation, wildfire and personal injury litigation, and professional licensing defense. Mr. Lear serves as an arbitrator for the Los Angeles County Bar Association and has been qualified as an expert witness in state and federal courts. Most recently, Mr. Lear teamed up with Attorney Bryan Harrison and J. Paul Gignac to form dba Los Angeles Wildfire Law, an alliance of attorneys formed in direct response to the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. Los Angeles Wildfire Law brings together experienced wildfire litigation attorneys who have been involved in the following fires: Eaton, Lahaina, Paradise, Woolsey, and Malibu. Most recently, Mr. Lear helped secure a cumulative $4 billion dollar settlement on behalf of Lahaina fire victims. He is a recognized speaker at legal seminars on professional responsibility and conduct, has published numerous articles, and has been qualified as an expert witness in state and federal courts. Mr. Lear earned his A.B. degree, cum laude from Dartmouth College and his J.D. degree from U.C.L.A. School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review and the Moot Court Honors Program. In 2014, Mr. Lear was inducted into ABOTA, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society established to recognize attorneys who elevate the standards of integrity, honor, ethics, civility and courtesy in the legal profession. Through ABOTA, Mr. Lear is a faculty member of the Jack Daniels Trial School, which teaches trial skills to less-experienced attorneys. In 2021, Mr. Lear was appointed by the State Bar Board of Trustees to chair the Effectiveness Committee of the blue-ribbon Ad Hoc Commission on Discipline. Mr. Lear is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (2014-present), Faculty Member, Jack Daniels Trial School. (2014-present), Founding Member, Association of Discipline Defense Counsel (2009–present) and former President (2019, 2020) and the California State Bar Ad Hoc Commission on the Discipline System (2021-23) Chairman of Effectiveness Subcommittee; member of Fairness Subcommittee. He is admitted to practice in all of California state courts; the United States Court of Appeal (Ninth Circuit); and United States District Courts for the Central and Northern districts of California. Brent Owen
is a partner with Haynes Boone. He is a first-chair trial lawyer trusted by clients to handle high-stakes litigation. Mr. Owen's experience includes trials in both state and federal courts before judges and juries and in arbitration tribunals. A former law clerk to the Colorado Supreme Court, he brings creative approaches to resolve litigation in a client's favor as early as possible. If that fails, Mr. Owen is well situated to go to trial on the merits and will protect a client's interests through appeal. He has been retained shortly before trial and achieved favorable outcomes in those instances. Mr. Owen's experience includes litigating a wide range of complicated environmental issues, including "forever chemicals," Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) lawsuits, and state environmental laws. He has obtained multimillion-dollar judgments, defense verdicts in cases with seven-figure exposure and multimillion-dollar settlements. During law school, Mr. Owen externed for the Honorable Kristen L. Mix and the Honorable Christine Arguello at the U.S. District Court in the District of Colorado. Following law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nancy E. Rice of the Colorado Supreme Court. Mr. Owen earned his B.A. degree from Wofford College and his J.D. degree from University of Colorado. He is on the Colorado Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure, founding board member and secretary of Academy 360, member of Colorado Succeeds Talent Task Force-Colorado Succeeds Advisory Council, and the Daniels Fund Scholarship Selection Review Committee. Mr. Owen is admitted to practice in New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado; the U.S. District Court, Districts of Colorado, Northern District of Illinois and District of Connecticut; U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh, Ninth and Tenth circuits; and United States Supreme Court.

How many Utah CLE credits can I carry over?
Effective July 1, 2026, Utah attorneys can carry over up to 6 hours of excess Verified CLE credits from their current compliance period to their immediate next compliance period. Ethics or professionalism credits may not be carried forward.
In addition, attorneys licensed in another MCLE state whose principal office for the practice of law is not in Utah, may fulfill that state's mandatory CLE requirement, as well as completing 1 hour each of Utah-approved ethics and professionalism credits, for their compliance in Utah.
