Speaker bio
Alejandro Pérez
is a partner at Pierson Ferdinand LLP. He defends employers of all sizes against discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, wrongful termination, unfair labor practice charges, and other claims arising out of the employment relationship. Mr. Perez also represents employers in disputes involving misappropriation of trade secrets, and breaches restrictive covenants, non-compete agreements, and other contractually-based claims. He also advises and defends clients in various industries on matters involving disability access under Title III of the ADA. Mr. Perez regularly advises clients on how pending legislation and administrative rules will impact his clients and their workforces, and has experience in governmental relations. He has assisted client with international employment law issues and assisting employers with employment and labor issues that arise during mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Perez earned his B.A. degree from University of the Incarnate Word and his J.D. degree from Phoenix School of Law.

Raymond Nardo
is a sole practitioner with The Law Office of Raymond Nardo in Mineola, New York. He has been retained by employees, employers, unions, and municipalities to represent their interests in claims involving overtime pay, discrimination, sexual harassment, whistleblower claims, and nearly all other employment claims. Mr. Nardo has won jury verdicts for both employers and employees, and has obtained millions of dollars in settlements, verdicts, and awards for employees. He is also an adjunct professor at SUNY Old Westbury where he teaches labor and employment law, a mediator for the U.S. District courts for the Southern and Eastern districts of New York, and an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and Nassau County District Court. Mr. Nardo practices extensively in federal court, New York state court, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and New York State Division of Human Rights (NYSDHR). He earned his B.A. degree from the College of William & Mary and his J.D. degree from New York University School of Law.

Amy Cann, Esq.
, is the founder of Cann Law, P.C., a seacoast-based firm serving businesses, nonprofits, and individuals across New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine. She advises on business and employment law, contracts, compliance, and privacy/technology-related legal issues, with a practical, plain-English approach. Ms. Cann also presents nationally for business associations and professional organizations, delivering actionable guidance on current legal and operational issues.

Brian T. Farrington
is a shareholder and section head of the Cowles & Thompson employment law section. His practice consists of transactional work and litigation advising and representing management concerning employment law, and particularly in the areas of Fair Labor Standards Act and Equal Employment Opportunity laws. Mr. Farrington consults with employers to assist them in compliance and to represent them in investigations by the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division. He also advises clients on compliance with state wage and hour laws and represents them in investigations by state Departments of Labor. Mr. Farrington also advises on matters related to Texas Workforce Commission unemployment eligibility, government contracts labor standards (Davis Bacon Act, Service Contract Act), OSHA 11(c), and state wage payment laws. He has represented clients in litigation under the FLSA, Title VII, the ADEA, and the ADA. Mr. Farrington earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Dallas; his M.A. degree, with honors, from the University of Chicago; and his J.D. degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Dallas Bar Association. Mr. Farrington is admitted to practice law in Texas and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas; and U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Texas.
