Speaker bio
Robert L. Sterup
is an attorney with Brown Law Firm, P.C., where he practices as a commercial litigator. He has been lead counsel in more than twenty jury trials in Montana state and federal district courts, and federal courts in other states. Mr. Sterup has successfully represented clients before the U.S. States Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Montana Bankruptcy Court, and has been lead counsel in arbitration before the American Arbitration Association in more than a dozen cases. He has represented clients in a variety of high stakes commercial litigation cases, including electrical and wind power generation, oil and gas litigation, and state and federal tax disputes, in Montana, Colorado, Nevada, North Dakota and Wyoming, and has also tried numerous administrative appeals before Montana state agencies. Mr. Sterup is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and was selected by his peers to be included in the Best Lawyers In America, the American Lawyer/Corporate Counsel Top Lawyers, and selected by his peers as a Mountain States Super Lawyer for the years 2007-2012, 2014-2019 in the area of general litigation. He is a member of the Yellowstone Area Bar Association and Montana Defense Trial Lawyers Association.

Charles N. Braun, II
is the sole practitioner with Charles N. Braun II, Attorney at Law. He is an author of criminal justice books, is a frequent speaker at seminars for public/private sector employees and has personally trained the majority of all Indiana based law enforcement officers through his position as attorney and law instructor at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Mr. Braun serves as an expert witness in both federal and state court regarding a variety of criminal justice issues, and has been an adjunct faculty member for a variety of colleges and universities over the years. He is admitted to practice before all federal and state courts of Indiana, as well as before the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago and the U.S. Supreme Court. A former deputy attorney general for the state of Indiana (where for nearly a decade he represented all of the state level criminal justice agencies), Mr. Braun has also worked for the American Bar Association and the U.S. Department of Justice. He is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy for police legal advisors. Mr. Braun earned his B.A. degree from Indiana University and his J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law.

Neubia L. Harris
is the founder and principal attorney of The Law Office of Neubia L. Harris, PLLC, a Raleigh-based civil rights law firm she established in 2018. Her practice focuses on education law and civil rights, representing students with disabilities, students of color, and military-connected students, as well as students and educators facing discrimination based on protected-class status. Ms. Harris has extensive civil litigation experience and has practiced before the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings, North Carolina state courts, and the U.S. District courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western districts of North Carolina. She earned her B.A. degree in communication studies from UNC Greensboro and her J.D. degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. Ms. Harris is active member and leader in the North Carolina Bar Association and Wake County Bar Association, and regularly volunteers with Legal Aid of North Carolina in furtherance of access to justice. Ms. Harris is married to Michael, and they have 2.5 lovely children (a son, a daughter, and a Cavapoo). While she picks up a new hobby on a regular basis, her static hobbies include singing, reading, and experiencing different cultures.

Stinson W. Ferguson
is an Assistant Municipal Judge for the City of Greenville, South Carolina. She previously worked in private practice as a corporate civil defense attorney for utilities, construction companies, financial institutions, and healthcare providers; for Southern Environmental Law Center as an energy and water law attorney; for the South Carolina Bar as the Director of the state's Pro Bono Program; as a Public Interest Fellow for the South Carolina Environmental Law Project; and as a law clerk for The Honorable Kristi L. Harrington, South Carolina Circuit Court, Ninth Judicial Circuit. She earned her B.A. in French, magna cum laude, from Converse College; her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law; and her LL.M., summa cum laude, from Vermont Law School, with a concentration in Energy Law and Policy.
