is attorney and owner of La Koshia R. Roberts Legal and Consulting, LLC in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She has been practicing law since 1999 and has experience in bankruptcy, banking, personal injury, healthcare, workers' compensation, government law, civil rights, property/real estate law, Medicare, medical malpractice, construction law, contract law, contract negotiations, estate planning, wills and successions. Ms. Roberts served as attorney/counsel for the State of Louisiana, municipalities, towns and a parish. She has been named Young Lawyer of the Year by the Fourth Judicial District Bar and is a former member and chair of multiple Attorney Disciplinary Hearing Committees of the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board. Since 2018, Ms. Roberts has been a member of the Louisiana Board of Ethics and the Supervisory Committee on Campaign Finance. She has served as chair of the Board of Ethics since 2022. Ms. Roberts is also a past board member and vice chair of the Southwest Louisiana Law Center, Inc. She had the privilege of serving as the research and writing attorney for the defense and appellate team of C. J. Stewart in the case of State of Nevada v. Orenthal James (O.J.) Simpson and Clarence J. (C.J.) Stewart, a case in which the Nevada Supreme Court agreed with the defense's severance argument and overturned Mr. Stewart's conviction and ordered his release from prison. Ms. Roberts also created educational resources used by Louisiana district court judges for the "Judges in the Classroom" program. She graduated from Southern University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (English) and a Master of Education (Administration/Supervision). She also graduated from the Southern University Law Center with a Juris Doctor. Ms. Roberts also completed the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government's Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program.

What happens if my course is cancelled?
In the unlikely event that NBI cancels or reschedules an upcoming program, each registered attendee will be contacted via email by a representative of NBI. Outreach to attendees begins as soon as NBI is made aware that a program will not move forward at its originally scheduled date and time.
