Speaker bio
Elizabeth J. Travis
is a solo practitioner in New Mexico, providing services as a neutral (arbitrator, settlement facilitator, and mediator), and representing civil clients including small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and boards. Prior to returning to private practice, Ms. Travis represented state and local governments. She retired as Deputy General Counsel for the New Mexico Department of Transportation, where she advised the Department’s construction, operations, and finance divisions on matters involving construction, water, public finance, procurement, and contract law. Earlier in her career, she served as an Assistant County Attorney for Santa Fe County, New Mexico. Ms. Travis is active in bar leadership and professional service, serving on the New Mexico Board of Bar Commissioners, State Bar Foundation Board, the State Bar’s Ethics Advisory Committee and Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. Liz is a member of NM Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Board and Client Protection Fund Committee. She is an arbitrator in the Bar’s Fee Arbitration Program. She has also been appointed to the City of Santa Fe Independent Audit Committee. Liz is an active member of the American Bar Association, participating in the Dispute Resolution and Professional Responsibility Sections and the Construction Industry Forum. Ms. Travis is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in New Mexico and California.

Richard J. Fox
is an attorney with the Law Office of Richard J. Fox PLLC, where his practice focuses on commercial and residential real estate. As legal counsel, he represents buyers, sellers, and lenders in residential and commercial real estate transactions, including title searches and closing. As a title insurance agent, Mr. Fox reviews title opinions and issues title insurance policies. He is admitted to practice in Vermont and Massachusetts, and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Mr. Fox is a member of the Vermont, Massachusetts, and Chittenden County bar associations; and is an agent for Vermont Attorneys Title Corporation. He earned his B.A. degree from Rutgers College and his J.D. degree from The George Washington University Law School.

She is a member of North Carolina Bar Association; Wake County Bar Association; and Eastern, Middle and Western districts of North Carolina.
