Speaker bio
Jennifer R. Price
is a partner at Thompson Coburn LLP. She is an experienced real estate attorney who provides guidance on a variety of complicated real estate transactions, including purchase and sales, leasing, financing, and portfolio and property management, among other areas. Her clients include retailers, national and local restaurants, landlords, tenants, and other national and local companies of all sizes, including nonprofit organizations, utility companies, banks, and individuals. In her nationwide leasing practice, Ms. Price has drafted and negotiated numerous leases for landlords, tenants and subtenants. She has experience with all types of leases, including office, retail, warehouse, agricultural and ground leasing. Her significant experience on both sides of a lease allows her to proactively anticipate issues and provide responsive, common-sense updates to the client on the status of a deal. Ms. Price is among a select group of attorneys with significant knowledge of commercial ground leases and other types of leasehold financings. For tenants seeking these types of financings — or for the financial institutions backing them — she monitors all relevant lease provisions, coordinates with the various parties impacted by the financing, and handles all related documentation. Ms. Price also has significant experience helping companies manage all aspects of their property portfolios, including purchase and sales, leasing, easements, financing, litigation, condemnation, zoning and related areas. She works collaboratively with each company's team and ensures all issues are addressed correctly and efficiently. Ms. Price earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Saint Louis University and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Saint Louis University School of Law.

James J. Kelly, Jr.
is a clinical professor of law at the University of Notre Dame. He teaches, researches, and practices community development law. Prior to joining the law school faculty, Mr. Kelly was assistant professor of law at the University of Baltimore School of Law and visiting professor of law at Washington and Lee University School of Law. At Baltimore, he directed and taught in the Community Development Clinic, while also teaching professional responsibility, jurisprudence and real estate finance. He previously taught property and legal writing II at W&L. Mr. Kelly earned his B.A. degree from the University of Virginia and his J.D. degree from Columbia. Mr. Kelly's areas of expertise include community development, community land trusts, land banking, land use planning and regulation, tax foreclosure, and vacant and abandoned properties.

Anastas Shkurti
is a partner at Robbins DiMonte. He brings two decades of experience negotiating and closing complex transactions, including commercial loan documentation, loan modifications, forbearance agreements, asset-based lending, intercreditor agreements, workouts, corporate mergers and acquisitions, asset and stock buys and sales, factoring, equipment leases and sales, franchise agreements, IT service agreements, master agreements, employment agreements, and organizing new businesses. Mr. Shkurti also possesses unique insight in all aspects of commercial real estate construction, bidding, development, land use, leasing, management, rezoning, and municipal law. His litigation experience focuses on complex data analysis, damage calculations, forecasts, modeling, projections, and expert witness preparation. By offering in-house services to several national companies, he has developed a broad perspective for evaluating legal consequences of all aspects of business operations. Mr. Shkurti also leverages his research and technological background to offer clients cost efficient legal services of uncompromising quality. He earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from West Virginia Wesleyan College B.S. degree in mathematics and business administration; and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from UIC School of Law (The John Marshall Law School).

is a partner in the law offices of DSK Law. He is board-certified as a trial lawyer by both The Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Over the course of his practice, Mr. Knight has generally focused on personal injury litigation. He earned his B.S.B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Central Florida and his J.D. degree from Stetson University College of Law.
