Speaker bio
Peter L. Ostermiller
is a sole practitioner concentrating in legal ethics and professional responsibility matters. In 1980 he obtained his license to practice law in Kentucky. His legal ethics and professional responsibility law practice began in the mid -1980s and, since the mid-1990s has been his practice concentration. He represents attorneys in disciplinary and reinstatement proceedings, judges in judicial ethics matters, and bar exam applicants. Mr. Ostermiller has also represented parties in attorney's fee dispute proceedings, and attorneys in legal proceedings in which sanctions have been sought against the attorney. He has represented parties in attorney disqualification proceedings and counseled lawyers and law firms in their respective rights, responsibilities and duties to other attorneys and their clients. He also serves as an expert witness at the state and federal level regarding legal ethics and professional responsibility matters. Mr. Ostermiller is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Louisville Bar Association and Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers. Mr. Ostermiller earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Louisville.

Catherine Ann Monzingo
opened the Monzingo Law Office in Lexington, Kentucky in 2002. Since that time, she has represented clients in all areas of family law from divorce to domestic violence to adoption. Ms. Monzingo has presented continuing legal education programs on a broad range of family law topics for the Kentucky Bar Association, Fayette County Bar Association and the National Business Institute. She is a current board member of Micah Legal, a Fayette County based sliding scale legal services nonprofit. Ms. Monzingo is member of the American Bar Association (Family Law Section), Kentucky Bar Association (Family Law Section) and Fayette County Bar Association (Domestic Relations Section) and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. Ms. Monzingo is the former chair of the Family Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association, former co-chair of the Domestic Relations Section of the Fayette County Bar Association and former board member of the Fayette County Bar Association. From 1999-2002, she served as an assistant public advocate for the Department of Public Advocacy. There Ms. Monzingo represented adults and children on felony, misdemeanor and status offenses and honed her trial skills through practice and the DPA training, including week-long trial institutes. She earned her B.S. degee in agriculture (natural resources conservation and management curriculum), her B.A. degree (honors program), and her J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky.
