Speaker bio
Kimberly DeCarrera
is a rare hybrid of practicing attorney (licensed in Georgia) and CFO. She runs a fractional general counsel and fractional CFO practice, where she works with law firm owners with sustainable growth strategies so that they don't burn out or run out of cash. Ms. DeCarrera takes the lessons that she has learned from all the unsustainable companies she has worked with in the past, to flip them on their head for what works for modern law firms. Previously, she was in-house Chief Financial and Legal Officer (CFO/CLO) for a 3PL logistics company, where she led the company through hyper-growth during the pandemic. Ms. DeCarrera also launched the Fractional CFO program for a legal marketing and coaching business before returning to her own practice. In past lifetimes, she also was a top national consultant for Fortune 500 companies in a niche financial consulting and audit practice, unclaimed property. Ms. DeCarrera has also worked as a law firm administrator and even started her own law firm out of law school. She earned a B.S. degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and her J.D. degree from Georgia State University College of Law.
