Overview
Navigating Fiduciary Duties, Conflicts, and Organizational Representation
When you sit across the table from a nonprofit board, your loyalties can pull in multiple directions at once: the organization, its directors, and the mission they serve. Their interests don't always align - and the moment you forget that, you're already in trouble.
Lawyers advising or serving on nonprofit boards must navigate a complex web of fiduciary obligations, professional responsibility rules, and regulatory requirements. Questions involving organizational representation, conflicts of interest, financial oversight, and mission stewardship can quickly become ethical minefields. This program provides practical guidance for identifying risks before they become governance failures. Learn how to advise boards effectively and help nonprofit organizations fulfill their missions while maintaining sound governance practices and public trust. Register today!
