Speaker bio
Neil Lloyd
is a litigation partner with the Chicago and Los Angeles offices of ArentFox Schiff LLP. He concentrates his practice in strategic litigation consulting--legal ethics, error preservation, and appeals. He has taught legal ethics at the University of Chicago Law School since 2023. Between 2010 and 2023, he taught legal ethics at Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law. Licensed in California and Illinois, Mr. Lloyd is one of fewer than 300 specialists certified in appellate law by the State Bar of California. He has argued 17 appeals in federal and state courts across the country and drafted thousands of appellate briefs during the past 30 years. He speaks frequently on legal ethics topics, including the emerging role of Large Language Models/AI on the practice. And he advises lawyers on their compliance with legal ethics rules.

Brent E. Johnson
is a partner in the Salt Lake City office of Holland & Hart LLP, where he concentrates his practice in complex corporate litigation. He handles lawsuits filed in the federal and state courts in California, Utah, and throughout the United States. Mr. Johnson regularly counsels clients on advertising, labeling, and ecommerce compliance under FDA, USDA, CPSC, TTB and FTC regulations as well as California’s consumer protection statutes. He is a nationally recognized speaker on food and supplement law, as well as digital advertising and ecommerce. Mr. Johnson is a frequent speaker on topics related to wellness, diversity and inclusion. He has published articles in several different legal fields, including the admissibility and use of expert evidence in the Tenth Circuit. Mr. Johnson earned his B.A. degree from Brigham Young University and his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School. He is a member of the Utah Bar Association, California Bar Association, American Bar Association (Section of Litigation, Former Subcommittee Chair - Insurance Coverage Committee - Products Liability Subcommittee) and the Federal Bar Association. Mr. Johnson is admitted to practice in California and Utah.

Sarah J. Barnes
is an attorney and legal counsel with Voya Financial, where she handles all levels of trust and estate administration matters. She was previously in private practice for many years, where she practiced in the areas of estate planning and elder law. Ms. Barnes earned her B.A. degree from Edgewood College and her J.D. degree from Marquette University Law School. Her professional memberships include the State Bar of Wisconsin, Dane County Bar Association, Legal Association of Women, and the Madison Estate Planning Council. Ms. Barnes serves on a number of non-profit boards, is a frequent speaker at various continuing legal education seminars, and has served as adjunct faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Marquette University Law School. She is admitted to practice in the state of Wisconsin.
