has been a white collar defense counsel at Carlton Fields, P.A. for the last 8 years, where he is a shareholder and located in Washington, D.C. With nearly three decades of criminal and civil litigation experience at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Mr. Rossi leverages the skills he honed as a federal prosecutor to concentrate on matters related to white collar criminal defense and government investigations. In his DOJ career, he had a prolific 110 trials, including ninety jury. His has several achievements and awards, but his most special is when the U.S. Attorney's Office in Alexandria set aside a special building conference area in his honor called the "Gene Rossi War Room" for his many trials. His courtroom achievements have earned him numerous commendations, including the FBI Washington Field Office's Career Achievement Award, the first time the award has ever been presented to a prosecutor. In private practice, he has had several high profile criminal jury trials and clients. In private practice, he is often quoted in articles (e.g., Newsweek, Politico, and LAW360) and has appeared on a multitude of cable and radio shows, including CNN, Court TV, NewsNation, Law & Crime Network, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, MSNBC, ABC News, CBS News, Fox News, PBS News, Hearst TV, China Global Television Network, and Hill TV. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Fairfield University, his J.D. degree from American University Washington College of Law and his LL.M. degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Mr. Rossi is a member of the American Bar Association and is licensed to practice law in Connecticut, District of Columbia and Virginia. Mr. Rossi teaches trial advocacy at Harvard Law School and constitutional and criminal procedure law at George Mason University.
