Overview
Is Your Land Contract Built to Last?
Higher interest rates and tightening credit have pushed a growing number of buyers and sellers toward creative financing, like contracts for deed (aka land contracts). Yet “simple” seller-financed deals can be a minefield for the unprepared practitioner.
This complete guide will show you how it's done: how to determine when a contract for deed is the right tool, how to draft one that holds up, and how to handle default, forfeiture, and enforcement when a deal goes sideways. You'll leave with a model land contract and the confidence to advise clients. Register today!
- Evaluate creative financing options and determine when a contract for deed is the best fit for your client's transaction.
- Draft a contract for deed from essential terms through boilerplate.
- Anticipate the tax consequences of installment sales before they become client suprises.
- Respond to a defaulting buyer with a clear roadmap.
- Apply land contract strategy to family transfers, farm and ranch deals, recreational land, and small commercial property.
