is a partner at McGuireWoods LLP. He is the co-leader of McGuireWoods' crisis management and incident response; and environmental enforcement and regulatory counseling practice groups. Fortune 500 companies turn to Mr. Sowatzka when they face major legal and reputational risk in environmental, health, and safety ("EHS") criminal, regulatory, and civil proceedings. He has years of experience as an EPA enforcement attorney, a general counsel with an international manufacturing company, and a private practice lawyer. Mr. Sowatzka has helped clients manage bet-the-company environmental matters in all media, including air, water, and waste. He earned his B.S. degree from University of Wisconsin Green Bay and his J.D. degree from Vermont Law and Graduate School. Mr. Sowatzka is a member of the Environmental Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. He is admitted to practice in Alabama, Wisconsin, Texas, and District of Columbia; and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle districts of Alabama, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and United States Supreme Court.

is a hydrologist and water quality specialist with experience both in the southeastern United States and the Pacific Northwest. He specializes in water quality evaluation, Clean Water Act permitting (Section 402 and 404), wetland hydrology, land-use change analysis, hydrological modeling, and forest, wetland and stream ecology. Mr. Hale's work primarily focuses on developing and implementing studies to generate solutions for projects with potential or existing impacts to water quality and/or wetlands. He earned a B.S. degree from University of Georgia, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Oregon State University.

Naveed Nanjee

is an attorney at McGuireWoods in the Environmental Practice group. He previously served as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington D.C., working on enforcement at Superfund Sites with a particular focus on emerging contaminants. Mr. Nanjee holds a Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School, a Master of Laws from the University of Edinburgh, and a double major in Cognitive Science and Sustainable Development from Vanderbilt University. He is admitted to practice in District of Columbia.
