Speaker bio
Justin R. Eschbacher
is a member of the law firm Eschbacher & Eschbacher and has emphasized his practice in the areas of divorce, custody, domestic disputes and child support since 2001. He is a member of the State Bar of California and Alaska Bar Assocation. Mr. Eschbacher interned with the Honorable Stephanie Joannides of the Superior Court of Alaska in 2000. In addition to his work at the trial court level, he has represented clients in several appeals with the Alaska Supreme Court resulting in several published opinions. Mr. Eschbacher is on the State of Alaska Child Support Rules Committee. He was a presenter at the Alaska Psychological Association on 2009 and 2010 on family law issues. Mr. Eschbacher earned his degree in political science from the University of Alaska at Anchorage with honors and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from California Western School of Law.

Daisy Borders
is a civil and family law attorney with Phillips Murrah P.C. Her family law practice includes litigation of relationships with domestic violence and abuse, high-conflict custody dynamics, and complex property valuation. Ms. Borders values work ethic above all else and is a zealous advocate for her clients. She takes a collaborative approach to meeting their needs. Not only does Ms. Borders understand that this may be the most difficult time in her clients'; lives, but she also works with each individual to identify and obtain desired results. Ms. Borders began pursuing her undergraduate degree at Davidson College in North Carolina. At Davidson, she competed as a Division I Athlete and served as a Bonner Scholar. Ms. Borders then transferred to the University of Oklahoma, where she received her undergraduate degree in English Writing with Honors. Ms. Borders graduated with Honors from Alexander Blewett lll School of Law at the University of Montana. While attending law school, Ms. Borders had the opportunity to live in Fairbanks, Alaska, and work as a law clerk for Clapp, Peterson, Tiemessen, Thorsness LLC. She also interned with the University of Montana's Legal Counsel under a general counsel and Blackstone Launchpad consultant capacity. Ms. Borders was born and raised in Oklahoma. For the last several years, however, she has lived and practiced law in Alaska. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs at their off-grid property in Alaska.

Shana L. Theiler
is an experienced trial attorney and partner at Walton, Theiler, and Winegarden, a Kenai-based firm serving clients throughout Southeast Alaska, the Kenai Peninsula, and the Anchorage region. Admitted to the Alaska Bar in 2004, Ms. Theiler brings over 20 years of legal experience, with a primary focus in domestic relations and family law litigation, including divorce, custody, protection orders, and related civil matters. She practices regularly in Alaska's First and Third Judicial Districts. Ms. Theiler began her career as a trial attorney with the Alaska Public Defender Agency, where she represented clients in high-level felony cases, juvenile delinquency, and child-in-need-of-aid proceedings. She also served as a certified CINA mediator with the Alaska Court System and has extensive experience handling complex family dynamics involving relocations, substance use, mental health, domestic violence, and disability issues. She has conducted well over a 100 trials and a reputation for courtroom excellence, particularly in evidentiary practice under the Alaska Rules of Evidence. Ms. Theiler earned her J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law, cum laude, where she focused on poverty law and served as Editor of the International Law Journal. She holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Her continuing legal education includes completion of the National Criminal Defense College, certification in court mediation, and advanced training in advocacy for children and clients with disabilities. She was published in the North Dakota Law Review. Ms. Theiler was named The Best Attorney on the Kenai Peninsula for 2025.

Peter L. Ostermiller
is a sole practitioner concentrating in legal ethics and professional responsibility matters. In 1980 he obtained his license to practice law in Kentucky. His legal ethics and professional responsibility law practice began in the mid -1980s and, since the mid-1990s has been his practice concentration. He represents attorneys in disciplinary and reinstatement proceedings, judges in judicial ethics matters, and bar exam applicants. Mr. Ostermiller has also represented parties in attorney's fee dispute proceedings, and attorneys in legal proceedings in which sanctions have been sought against the attorney. He has represented parties in attorney disqualification proceedings and counseled lawyers and law firms in their respective rights, responsibilities and duties to other attorneys and their clients. He also serves as an expert witness at the state and federal level regarding legal ethics and professional responsibility matters. Mr. Ostermiller is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Louisville Bar Association and Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers. Mr. Ostermiller earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Louisville.
