Angeles Garcia Cassin is a partner at Sheppard Mullin. She is a skilled trial lawyer, who helps companies defend against employees' claims of discrimination, retaliation, and unpaid wages. Ms. Cassin also helps companies protect their confidential information and defend against claims alleging misappropriation of trade secrets. She advises employers on compliance with federal, state, and local laws, drafts policies and employment agreements, provides guidance on corrective actions, and counsels clients on proper documentation and best practices. Ms. Cassin represents companies of all sizes and works with in-house counsel and human resources personnel to proactively avoid litigation. She successfully negotiated to significantly reduce penalties imposed by the DOL for alleged misclassification of employees and improper retention of tips. Ms. Cassin also has experience helping companies navigate investigations by the Department of Justice Immigrant and Employee Rights Section stemming from Form I-9 employment verification practices and the use of E-Verify. She earned her B.A. degree from Wellesley College and her J.D. degree from University of Houston Law Center.
