Johanna L Matloff is a partner in the Boston office of The Wagner Law Group. She is an experienced litigator in disputes involving ERISA and employment benefits as well as employment, insurance, non-profit organizations, complex torts, nursing homes, and consumer and home improvement products liability. Ms. Matloff's ERISA litigation experience includes ERISA preemption issues, benefit claims, plan benefit calculation matters, as well as breach of fiduciary duty claims. Ms. Matloff regularly advises clients, including both for-profit and non-profit organizations, on a variety of employment law matters. She provides counsel to employers regarding employment-related policies and agreements, including non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, severance agreements, and employee handbooks Ms. Matloff also counsels employers on leave administration, accommodations issues, and the administration of claims under self-funded and/or self-insured health and welfare plans and pension plans. Additionally, she advises non-profit organizations on a variety of legal and litigation matters including director's and officer's liability, human resources and personnel decisions, employment practices, contracts, First Amendment issues, collections, and insurance. Ms. Matloff was a past editor of the pregnancy discrimination chapter to the MCLE on Massachusetts Employment Law. She has received several honors, including Massachusetts and New England Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and Top Lawyers by Boston Magazine. Ms. Matloff has over 20 years of experience in providing legal services. She is a member in good standing of the bar and is licensed in Massachusetts. Ms. Matloff graduated magna cum laude from the Suffolk University Law School and magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.
