Lucy Bednarek is of counsel in the Chicago office of Littler Mendelson P.C. She is an experienced litigation attorney with extensive jury trial experience in state and federal court. Ms. Bednarek defends employers in all areas of employment law including discrimination, retaliation, harassment, disability discrimination and accommodation, family and medical leave, whistleblower, equal pay, wage and hour, defamation, breach of contract, and military service. She defends claims involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Equal Pay Act (EPA), Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), Section 1981, and state laws. Ms. Bednarek also defends employers before state and federal administrative agencies, including the EEOC, Illinois Human Rights Commission,Indiana Civil Rights Commission, and Indiana Department of Labor. She earned her B.A. degree from Loyola University Chicago and her J.D. degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. Ms. Bednarek is a member of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel (IADTC), Defense Research Institute (DRI), Illinois State Bar Association and Indiana State Bar Association.
