Rachel L Loughlin is a partner with O'Hagan Meyer in the firm's Richmond, Virginia office. Her practice focuses on representing clients in complex commercial and employment disputes in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution forums. Ms. Loughlin also regularly represents clients in a wide variety of employment issues, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. She also routinely represents clients in a variety of commercial claims, including claims for officers' and directors' liability, breach of contract, fraud, violations of state trade secret laws, tortious interference with contract. In addition to litigation, Ms. Loughlin advises clients on employee investigations, discipline and termination; whistleblower allegations; employee attendance and leave issues under the FMLA, ADA, and other state and federal laws; severance issues; and employment agreements, including non-competition and non-disclosure agreements, with an emphasis on business conscious strategies and outcomes. Prior to joining the firm, she practiced at a boutique litigation firm in Northern Virginia. Ms. Loughlin earned her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Vermont Law School where she also served on the editorial staff of the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Boston University. Ms. Loughlin is a member of the Virginia State Bar; Virginia Women Attorneys Association; and Virginia, Richmond and Massachusetts bar associations. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Virginia.
