Sarah K Thorpe is an associate at the firm. An experienced trial attorney, her practice encompasses a wide range of family law matters, including domestic violence, divorce/dissolution of marriage, parenting plans and modifications, child support, abusive litigation, and relocations. Ms. Thorpe has considerable experience representing victims of domestic violence and child abuse in family law, criminal, and civil rights matters. Prior to joining Skellenger Bender, she spent five years as an attorney at Northwest Justice Project, representing low-income victims of domestic violence and other crimes in King County, prioritizing people identifying as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Limited English Proficient, or from other marginalized communities. Ms. Thorpe's legal aid background inspired her passion for supporting and uplifting families through the court system and provided her with significant litigation, trial, and motions practice experience. In her private family law practice, she assists clients in reaching resolution of their disputes both inside and out of the courtroom, carefully tailoring her approach to each matter based upon the unique facts and circumstances presented. Ms. Thorpe is a member of King County and Washington State bar associations. She earned her B.A. degree from Pacific Lutheran University and her J.D. degree from Seattle University School of Law.
