is a partner in the law firm of Margulis Gelfand, LLC where he focuses his practice on criminal defense, white collar matters, internal investigations, tax controversy, and sophisticated civil litigation. His clients have included elected officials, attorneys, current and former law enforcement officers, former prosecutors, doctors, large and small businesses, a university, religious leaders, and hardworking individuals from all walks of life. Mr. Gelfand is a former federal prosecutor with extensive experience in high stakes litigation. He joined the U.S. Department of Justice in 2009 through the Attorney General's Honors Program and was assigned to the Tax Division's Southern Criminal Enforcement Section. As a prosecutor, Mr. Gelfand first-chaired 13 federal fraud jury trials and numerous federal bench trials, winning all of them. He spearheaded more than 50 financial fraud grand jury investigations and represented the United States before federal courts of appeal with a 100% success rate. Mr. Gelfand routinely presents continuing education to attorneys and accountants throughout the country on cutting-edge legal issues and has served as an adjunct professor of law at Washington University in St. Louis. He earned his B.A. degree, with high honors, from Brandeis University and his J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

A former state prosecutor and experienced civil litigator, Mr. Goldberger is a passionate advocate who provides zealous representation both in and out of the courtroom. He graduated with honors from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. After college, he worked for one of the nation’s largest corporations, collaborating with state and federal law enforcement to investigate and prosecute theft and fraud. Mr. Goldberger later earned his J.D. degree from St. Louis University School of Law, where he was a member of the St. Louis University Journal, served as a teaching assistant for the Legal Research and Writing program, and competed on the trial advocacy team. Following law school, he began his legal career at the City of St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office, where he served as a first-chair prosecuting attorney in numerous felony jury trials. Mr. Goldberger then transitioned to private practice, where he continues to pursue the best possible outcomes for clients facing serious criminal charges, accusations of professional misconduct, or civil litigation in state and federal court. He is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Illinois.

In the unlikely event that NBI cancels or reschedules an upcoming program, each registered attendee will be contacted via email by a representative of NBI. Outreach to attendees begins as soon as NBI is made aware that a program will not move forward at its originally scheduled date and time.
