Michael J. Gorby
is a founder and partner with Gorby Peters & Associates, LLC. He is a nationally recognized leader in complex corporate disputes, professional negligence cases, and liability issues that arise for property owners and managers, such as hotel chains, restaurants, shopping centers, apartment complexes, office buildings and other public venues. Since 1998, Mr. Gorby has served as the program chair for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Georgia (an affiliate of the University of Georgia), on the topic of premises liability. He is also the author of a popular legal treatise, Premises Liability in Georgia, which is published by Thomson Reuters/West, and which is now in its third edition. Mr. Gorby serves as an instructor/lecturer for Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center (GTPAC) in the area of procuring government contracts, and is also a registered mediator. He earned his B.A. degree from Georgia State University and his J.D. degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Mary Donne Peters
, one of the founders and a partner at Gorby Peters & Associates, LLC, represents high-growth, closely held companies, often serving as outside general counsel or privacy counsel. She served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of South Carolina, as honors attorney for the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Justice Department, and as a law clerk for a federal appeals court judge (Hon. Emory Sneeden, Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals), before entering private practice. Ms. Donne Peters is a frequent lecturer for legal and business groups, and chairs a litigation seminar for the Institute of Continuing Education in Georgia (now a division of the State Bar of Georgia). She is the author of Expert Testimony in Georgia, published by Thomson Reuters®. Ms. Donne Peters earned her B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina.

Thomas Larkin
is a government contracting consultant for Gorby Peters & Associates, LLC and the lead instructor for the GP Training Division. A 20-year Veteran of the United States Army who retired with the rank of Major, he has over 35 years of experience in planning, executing, and administering government contracts in a variety of positions as contracting officer and administrative contracting officer. As an administrative contracting officer, Mr. Larkin oversaw a $2.1 billion production contract. Moving from "practitioner" to educator, he became a faculty member as an assistant professor of contracting at the Air Force Institute of Technology, instructing government employees how to perform purchasing functions. Mr. Larkin later participated in the startup and development of Defense Acquisition University. Later in his career, he completed ten years of service with the Georgia Tech Procurement Technical Assistance Center (GTPAC) as an educator and business counselor for over 4,500 Georgia businesses concerning how to navigate the bidding process in providing goods and services to local, state and federal agencies or municipalities. Businesses receiving this assistance received as a Prime Vendor or Subcontractor over $550M in contract awards.

Debbi Shapiro
founded Henderson Shapiro, Inc. in 1994 to provide marketing and related business services in a non-traditional agency setting. The firm is in Roswell, Georgia and has eighteen employees. Some current clients include, Cricket Wireless, Boehringer Ingelheim, Georgia Pacific, Shaw Sports Turf, Coherent Logix and Toppan America. Henderson Shapiro clients secured thru contracting efforts include: the DOD (Georgia Army National Guard) The University of North Carolina System, The University of South Carolina System and the University of Alabama Huntsville. Contracts secured with an agency partner include: The Atlanta Police Department, Dekalb County, and EEC Council of Rhode Island. Ms. Shapiro's personal achievements include being named Small Businessperson of the Year by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Enterprising Women of the Year class member, Entrepreneur award from the City of Roswell, a recipient of the WPO Harvard Business School Executive Leadership scholarship and featured in Working Women Magazine as one of the "Top 50 Best Places for Moms to Work" issue. and has been published in multiple local, reginal and national publications on leadership, marketing and personal growth topics. In addition to her career achievements, she was an original founder and board member of Gesher L'Torah, a synagogue in Alpharetta. Ms. Shaprio served for ten years on the Board of Directors for The American Red and The Arthritis Foundation for twelve years. For Eleven years, she was visiting staff faculty member at UGA in the Leadership and Development program; lecturing the MBA's and JD's on lessons in leadership. Henderson Shapiro is a full-service marketing firm. Services include marketing and business consulting, advertising and communications, digital, web and video services, start-up consulting and marketing services for many industries, strategic and brand planning and launch execution, media planning and buying and a creative suite of services. Some Henderson Shapiro legacy accomplishments include being selected as one of the agencies awarded the 1996 Coca-Cola Olympic City marketing launch, selected as one of the firms to launch the Atlanta Purpose Built Communities initiative, awarded the project of transitioning Bellsouth Mobility to Cingular Wireless, and self-published The Common Thread; a book highlighting 35 years of the Peachtree Road Race T-shirt. The firm has also been instrumental in guiding and assisting in catapulting eight start up firms.
