Speaker bio
Brianna J. Schroeder
is an attorney at Janzen Schroeder Agricultural Law LLC. She grew up on a family farm in northeastern Indiana. Ms. Schroeder focuses her legal practice working for farmers and agribusinesses. She has litigated complex environmental and agricultural matters, including insurance coverage, regulatory compliance, tort claims, zoning appeals, and employment claims. Ms. Schroeder negotiates and drafts contracts for agricultural companies and farms, including farm leases, employment agreements, sales agreements, and privacy contracts. She is licensed in Indiana and Illinois and has represented a wide variety of clients from start-up companies and livestock farmers to large agricultural businesses, trade groups, and municipalities. Ms. Schroder has authored numerous articles and given presentations on a variety of topics, including livestock operations, the Clean Water Act, Swampbuster, employment issues in agricultural businesses, fence law, drainage issues, land application leases, wetlands compliance, agri-tourism, food law, and insurance coverage. She earned her B.S. degree, cum laude, from Carthage College, her M.S. degree from Valparaiso University and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Valparaiso University School of Law.

Ashley M. Ulbricht
is of counsel with Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP's Indianapolis office. She focuses her municipal practice in litigation with a concentration on redevelopment, real estate, utility and telecommunications, zoning and planning, land use, construction project management, music and movie licensing, code enforcement litigation, public safety discipline, contract negotiation, and employment law. Prior to joining Taft, Ms. Ulbricht served as city attorney for the City of Carmel, Indiana and general counsel to the Carmel Redevelopment Commission. She earned her B.S. degree from Saint Mary's College, University of Notre Dame and her J.D. degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law. Ms. Ulbricht is a member of the Indiana Municipal Lawyers Association, where she has previously served as a member of the Litigation Committee and AIM Utilities Policy Committee. She is also a member of the International Municipal Lawyers Association and serves as the Indiana State Chair.

Seth B. Zirkle
is a partner with Kahn, Dees, Donovan & Kahn, LLP, where his practice focuses on all aspects of real estate, business, banking, and construction matters. Mr. Zirkle brings a wealth of experience in counseling clients on creative, and yet practical and successful solutions navigating perplexing issues to garner the best outcome. His passion for his practice is built on more than a decade of representing clients as diverse as Midwest commercial property managers, Mid-South affordable housing developers, the U.S. General Services Administration, public housing authorities, and closely-held family businesses. Mr. Zirkle earned his J.D. degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Wabash College.

Andrea K. Townsend
is a partner at Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP. She focuses her practice in the areas of environmental law, commercial real estate, zoning and land use, business and commercial services, insurance coverage, and complex litigation. Andrea regularly assists clients with all aspects of environmental matters, including due diligence investigation, compliance, cleanups, cost-recovery actions, and Brownfield redevelopment. She has successfully navigated numerous clients through corporate and real estate transactions, including advising on corporate formation strategies, negotiating complex asset, stock, or real estate purchase or lease agreements, and assisting clients in completing requisite transactional due diligence. She also frequently works with policyholders in a wide array of insurance coverage matters, including archeology searches for policies, claims handling, coverage disputes, and risk management and policy procurement. She also represents clients before zoning boards, planning commissions, and local legislative bodies throughout the State of Indiana. Her clients include real estate investors and developers, non-profit entities, municipalities, industrial/manufacturing businesses, dry cleaners, and petroleum and agricultural companies. Additionally, she focuses a portion of her practice on appeals, having participated from both the judicial and advocacy perspectives in Indiana's state appellate courts and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She earned her B.B.A degree in accounting summa cum laude from University of Notre Dame and her J.D degree summa cum laude from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
