Stephen W. Funk
is a shareholder with the law firm of Roetzel & Andress, where he practices in business and public law litigation, appellate law, constitutional law, municipal law, and land use and zoning law. He has over 33 years of litigation experience, with the last 27 years working in Roetzel. Mr. Funk is a member of the Akron, Ohio State and Federal bar associations; and a member of the advisory group for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Miami University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School.

Robert A. Zimmerman
is a partner in the law firm of Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP, and chair of the firm's government relations practice group. As a civil trial and appellate lawyer, he has litigated a wide variety of cases in Ohio and around the country. In the area of land use and zoning law, Mr. Zimmerman has handled numerous matters throughout administrative and legislative consideration and court action. He serves as national zoning counsel to a large company. In the area of eminent domain, he represents both property owners and governmental entities. Mr. Zimmerman served on the Shaker Heights City Council from 2006-2021. He served eight years as council's representative on the Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. Mr. Zimmerman earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from The Ohio State University and his J.D. degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he currently serves as co-chairperson of the national council.

Anthony R. Vacanti
is a partner in the law firm of Tucker Ellis LLP, where he counsels property owners, tenants, developers, and investors through the complicated and sometimes political maze of land use, zoning, eminent domain, real property tax, and real estate transactional matters. Mr. Vacanti secures development approval and rights in administrative and court proceedings, including approvals before boards of zoning appeals, planning commissions, city councils, boards of township trustees, county and state commissions, and the court system. He also defends property owners and other interested parties when faced with the governmental exercise of eminent domain to ensure the governmental actions are proper and that interested parties receive just compensation. Mr. Vacanti is a member of the Ohio State, Akron, Cleveland Metropolitan and American bar associations. He earned his B.A. degree from American University and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University Law School.

Alfred E. Schrader
is principal with Roderick Linton Belfance, LLP. Mr. Schrader primarily focuses on representing all forms of local government throughout the state of Ohio, including townships, water districts, villages, fire districts, joint economic development districts (JEDD) cities and counties. He is admitted to all Ohio courts, the U.S. Federal Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court, where he has filed two petitions for certiorari. Mr. Schrader has represented local governments in over half of Ohio's 88 counties. He acts as special counsel for zoning, joint economic development district formation, land use planning, annexation, and general local government law matters. Mr. Schrader served as special counsel to Sugar Creek Township in Wayne County, Ohio and Westfield Township in Medina County, Ohio. He is township attorney for Boston Township and counsel for Valley Fire District. Mr. Schrader is a frequent lecturer on topics such as annexation, joint economic development districts, employee discipline, zoning, fire and police issues, and other local government law issues. He is a life member, Bencher, and treasurer of the Scanlon Inn of Court in Akron, Ohio. Mr. Schrader earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Kent State University and his J.D. degree from The Ohio State University, Michael E. Moritz College of Law.

Matthew E. Miller-Novak
earned his J.D. degree from Chase School of Law, his Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the University of Cincinnati, and his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting from Youngstown State University. He first moved to Cincinnati in 2001 to study painting at the University of Cincinnati after marrying his wife Jamie. Jamie began teaching high school English in the Three Rivers School District, and Mr. Miller-Novak began teaching painting and drawing at Northern Kentucky University while exhibiting his art regionally and nationally. He soon developed an interest in local government and began getting involved in campaigns and other community service. Mr. Miller-Novak decided to stop teaching and attend law school. Upon his admission at Chase Law, he focused his studies on constitutional jurisprudence and employment discrimination. He graduated cum laude, and he received honors for his trial advocacy skills and legal writing. In addition, Mr. Miller-Novak published two law review articles and spoke at Whittier Law School regarding employment matters in 2014. He is now focusing his practice on employment matters, government accountability, business law, and civil litigation. He is currently assistant prosecutor in Hamilton County, Ohio.

Marlon A. Primes
is a partner in the Cleveland office of Brennan, Manna & Diamond, LLC. He is a distinguished former assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, with over 30 years of experience. Mr. Primes has transitioned to serve as co-chair of BMD's business and tort litigation practice, and represents companies across the U.S. in high-stakes litigation. He has handled a wide variety of complex civil litigation in state, federal and appellate courts, including jury trials and appellate actions. Mr. Primes earned his B.S. degree from Ohio University and his J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Christopher C. Razek
is senior managing associate with Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Arnoff LLP. He provides strategic legal counsel to businesses across the entire liquor supply chain, including carriers, freight forwarders, shippers, depositors, warehouse logistics and fulfillment providers, and other stakeholders. Mr. Razek has built a niche within the practice assisting depositors, warehousemen, fulfillment providers, and vendors in the warehousing and fulfillment space. He drafts and negotiates warehousing and fulfillment contracts in various sectors, including retail, pharmaceutical, alcohol, and utilities. As a liquor regulatory advisor, Mr. Razek stays ahead of emerging regulatory developments on behalf of his clients. He takes pride in assisting participants of each of the three-tier system navigate the complex regulatory and commercial landscape of the liquor industry. Mr. Razek has extensive experience assisting clients obtain, maintain, and comply with all manner of required registrations, operating authorities, licenses, and permits across the entire liquor supply chain at the federal, state, and local level. He earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from John Carroll University and his J.D. degree from Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
