Speaker bio
Simon H. Bloom
is the founder of Bloom Parham, LLP. In a time when nearly all substantial civil cases settle, his extensive trial experience is both rare and extremely valuable to a litigant. Mr. Bloom's real estate expertise covers everything from zoning and permitting to closings, construction defects, homeowner disputes, eminent domain, and complex tax appeal litigation. Beyond real estate, he has handled high-stakes employment and partnership disputes, IP litigation, and a range of contentious commercial matters. Mr. Bloom graduated from the University of Virginia, earning both his B.A. degree, with distinction, and his J.D. degree. He then clerked for two U.S. District Court judges in the Northern District of Alabama. Georgia Super Lawyers lists Mr. Bloom among the Top 100 lawyers in Georgia. Since 2009, he has been included annually as a Super Lawyer or Rising Star. Mr. Bloom has been recognized by the Fulton County Daily Report in its "On the Rise" edition and named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle's "Top 40 Under 40." Georgia Trend regularly includes him in its annual Legal Elite edition. In addition to offering personalized attention to clients, Mr. Bloom writes and teaches CLE seminars throughout the Southeast. He also served nine years as an adjunct professor at Emory University, where he taught the pre-trial litigation clinic. Mr. Bloom is routinely recognized for his service to the community. He was twice appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to the Governor's Commission on Public Service and Volunteerism, and also served as chairman of the state board of the Department of Community Affairs. In 2023, Mr. Bloom received the prestigious Justice Robert Benham Award for Community Service from the Chief Justice's Commission on Professionalism, highlighting his service to community, state, and profession. In 2025, the Georgia Supreme Court appointed him to a three-year term on the State Disciplinary Board, which investigates professionalism and ethics complaints against Georgia attorneys. He devotes considerable time to improving the life outcomes of disadvantaged children in Metro Atlanta. Mr. Bloom has been a long-time supporter, donor, board member, and leader within the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, serving in roles from volunteer to county board president to executive committee member of the corporate board. He was named BGCMA Board Member of the Year in 2012 and became board chair in 2020. In 2022, Mr. Bloom received the National Service to Youth Award and was named Georgia’s Board Member of the Year. In 2023, he was appointed to the National Board of Trustees. Consistent with his commitment to youth, Mr. Bloom serves on the Executive Committee for the Atlanta Police Foundation Board of Trustees, focusing on crime prevention and early intervention through the APF At Promise Center. He also serves on the Board of Visitors for Georgia State University College of Law and has held positions with the Kiwanis Club of Atlanta, Atlanta Regional Board for Teach for America, Great Promise Partners, Marcus Autism Center, and Open Hand. Originally from North Miami, Florida, Mr. Bloom now lives in Druid Hills with his wife and their three daughters. For more than 25 years, he has hosted the popular Pig Gig in his backyard, an annual event that has raised over $1 million for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.

Virginia Eith
,an associate with the Bloom Parham, LLP in Atlanta, represents and assists clients with the complexities of business, construction, and real estate disputes. She earned her J.D. degree from Georgia State University College of Law, graduating magna cum laude and earning an induction into the Order of the Coif. During law school, Ms. Eith served as the managing editor of the Georgia State University Law Review and gained practical experience working as a graduate research assistant and as a judicial extern with the Georgia State-wide Business Court. Her academic journey includes a B.A. degree in sociology and criminal justice from the University of South Carolina, where she excelled, graduating magna cum laude and earning an induction into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Ms. Eith is an Atlanta native and currently calls the Poncey-Highland neighborhood her home. Beyond the legal world, she enjoys her time with family, cooking, and finds her weekends best spent by the lake.

Lawrence S. Rosenwald
has handled more than one thousand civil and criminal cases in a variety of legal areas over his 40 year career. He has extensive transactional experience including contract, construction, real estate, commercial, and estate and trust law. Mr. Rosenwald has litigation experience in areas as diverse as real estate, trusts and estates, eminent domain, construction, commercial, and civil rights. He has lectured in the areas of real estate law, credit and collection practice, eminent domain law, and trust and estate law to various professional groups. Mr. Rosenwald earned his B.S. and J.D. degrees, with honors, from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and Law School. He served as chairman of the Eminent Domain Committee and the Vendors and Purchases Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association.

Anne E. Wal
is a shareholder in the real estate, construction, banking, bankruptcy, and business restructuring sections of von Briesen & Roper, s.c. She represents privately and publicly held businesses, financial institutions, and governmental and quasi-governmental entities in construction, real estate, and commercial finance matters. Ms. Wal's real estate work covers all stages of commercial development, including acquisition; obtaining entitlements; negotiating development agreements, easements, or other documents memorializing property rights; negotiating design and construction contracts; and negotiating leases. She has an extensive background in banking as a former business banker, middle market commercial banking paralegal, and project manager for compliance issues at three of the largest banks in Milwaukee. While at Chase Bank (formerly Bank One), she was a member of a national project team formed to create new versions of middle market commercial loan documents. Ms. Wal's professional memberships include the American and Milwaukee bar associations, and the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Maria Kiehling Brees
is an attorney with Brees Law Firm, LLC. She focuses her practice on all the resources necessary to grow and maintain a business from formation to continued support through business development, real estate transactions, and potential disputes. Ms. Brees is also active in the non-profit community. She is a member of the Business Liaison Committee of the Southeastern Chamber of Commerce, providing a resource for both small, local businesses, as well as regional industry to interact throughout the entire Southeast. Ms. Brees earned her B.A. degree from Furman University and her J.D. degree from the Charleston School of Law.

Richard J. Fox
is an attorney with the Law Office of Richard J. Fox PLLC, where his practice focuses on commercial and residential real estate. As legal counsel, he represents buyers, sellers, and lenders in residential and commercial real estate transactions, including title searches and closing. As a title insurance agent, Mr. Fox reviews title opinions and issues title insurance policies. He is admitted to practice in Vermont and Massachusetts, and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Mr. Fox is a member of the Vermont, Massachusetts, and Chittenden County bar associations; and is an agent for Vermont Attorneys Title Corporation. He earned his B.A. degree from Rutgers College and his J.D. degree from The George Washington University Law School.
